‘Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X’ Episode 3 Results: Another Day, Another Blindside

Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X is heating up, now that the competitors are facing the possibility of new alliances on other tribes. A twist gave us a Survivor Summit that allowed representatives from both tribes to meet and discuss the game over lunch. And the strategizing there got the ball rolling for the blindside that closed the episode.

The episode drew a dividing line in the Gen X tribe between Paul, who fancied himself as a paternal figure everyone loved (at least judging from his behavior at the Summit), and CeCe, who was well-aware of her low position in the game, and somehow made it worse with a terrible immunity challenge performance. Neither was in a particularly strong position in the game, but self-awareness is everything. We saw how badly Hannah hurt her own social standing when she insisted on trying to explain her reasoning for last week’s vote to Zeke, despite Zeke and Adam PLEADING with her to just give them a moment to process what happened. And Paul made his own situation worse by straight-up telling the women that if the men on the Gen X tribe decided to ban together, he would abandon the ladies to fate.

But was the blunder enough to send Paul home, or was CeCe’s tribal council performance too big a detriment to overcome? Check out the results below:

So the alliance of David, Ken and CeCe teamed with the remaining women on the Gen X tribe to blindside Paul, who admitted in his exit interview that he absolutely did not see this coming. Ultimately, I think time will tell as to whether or not this was the right move, but I think it has a decent chance to improve morale around camp, provided Paul isn’t simply replaced as head honcho by someone more annoying. I guess we’ll see.
