‘Suicide Squad’ Cast Assembles for Table Read, New Cast Members Revealed (PHOTO)
Suicide Squad hits theaters next summer, and the cast has come together for their first official table read of the script.
Director David Ayer posted the photo of the table read on Twitter last night, showing the cast assembled for the first time. Pictured are Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc) along with Jay Hernandez (role still unconfirmed) and Ayer himself. Noticeably missing is The Joker, Jared Leto, although Leto posted a photo to Instagram charting the start of his transformation into the iconic villain. So while he wasn’t on-hand for the table read, he’s still taking care of business.
However, they’re not alone, as they’re joined by new cast additions Ike Barinholtz (Hugo Strange), Jim Parrack (Deathstroke) and Adam Beach (Ravan). Of course, those parenthetical character names are just rumors at this point, as Warner Bros. have yet to confirm the actors’ roles just yet. Still, the cast is stronger for having them, no matter what roles they’re playing. These three are damn fine actors (I’m especially intrigued to see Barinholtz headed in a more dramatic direction, since I’ve only ever seen him in comedic roles like Mad TV and The Mindy Project).
