Sochi Olympics 2014 – Figure Skating Results – February 6
The opening ceremony for the Sochi Winter Olympics may not be until today (February 7), but there were a few events yesterday to kick things off.
First up was the Figure Skating, and the winner for the Men’s Team Short Program was Yuzuru Hanyu for Japan, with a total segment score of 97.98. Coming in second was Russia’s Evgeny Plyushchenko, who achieved a score of 91.39, and third was Patrick Chan for Canada with 89.71.
For the Pairs Short Program Russia came out the winners, thanks to Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov, who achieved a score of 83.79. They beat out Canada’s Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford who came in with 73.10, and China’s Cheng Peng and Hao Zhang, who scored 71.01.
