Got Something to Add?
Another thought on why some of the moms do not appear on camera. Travis's mom didn't appear last season and she's not appearing this season for Danny. Perhaps she has requested not to be shown on camera, but she wants the country to focus on her sons and not herself. It might be that it has nothing to do with the producers at all... Perhaps some other mothers have requested to do the same thing. The producers will hype it up that Benji is in the audience because he was last season's winner. If the first season winner were in the audience as well, I'm sure they'd hype that up too.
Why is the "dialidol" information always correct except for when it comes to Danny & Anya?
Has anyone else thought about that?
Whew! Finally Cedric is sent home. I think he was relieved too cause he didn't seem disappointed in being sent home. In the end I think he has learned alot from this experience and I'm sure it has opened a few doors for him to continue his dancing career especially with Debbie Allen's school. I don't think we'll hear the last of Cedric. In the end I must say I felt something for Cedric especially his authentic personality cause he wasn't arrogant or egotiscical like the others. He wasn't the best but he truly gave his heart & soul to want to be the best. All the best to you Cedric:)
i think it's an atrocious double standard that past dancers have been eliminated because of their solo performance only... yet once again the judges changes the rules to suit their interests and decided to take the whole season into consideration. anya should have been eliminated, plain and simple. shauna had the best solo.
Regarding not showing anyone's family except for Lacey's....I agree it stinks. The other evening, CAT mentioned that Danny's "mum" was standing over there and still they didn't bother to swing a camera that way.
Because Dominic's mother is my sis's best friend, I know that she has been in the audience and was never on camera except by accident when the camera was showing a poster an audience member was holding up (it wasn't even a poster for Dominic).
Certainly the producers and others know the parents are in the audience. Why are Lacey's parents and brother the only ones acknowledged?
I don't know why but I find Lacey's attitude much more disconcerting than Danny's.
Well Amina, I don't think it was the judges review that landed Danny in the bottom three. After all, Danny was in the bottom three last week too. Besides the guest judge, I think I only remember Shane Sparks saying something about him when they let him into the Top 20. Other than that, I haven't heard any of the judges say anything about Danny being "arrogant" or "superior" since then. Remember Nigel said that the guest judge was "talking crap."? Obviously not all the judges have that opinion. If the judges REALLY didn't like Danny that much, they would have eliminated him last week or this week when the had the opportunity.
I blame that catty bitch Shankman from Hairspray (you couldn't pay me to see his movie). If he didn't pull a hissy fit and attack Danny's character, then Danny & Anya would not have landed in the bottom 3. Those judges spent so much time ragging on Danny's "arrogance", it completely detracted from Danny & Anya's beautiful performance.
I'm tired of these judges telling me that Danny is "arrogant" or that he thinks he's superior (are they mind-readers now?) or that he doesn't connect (he certainly connects TO ME). I don't need Nigel or that hack Shankman telling me what to think. I like to make my mind up for myself, thank you!
You're right Pallaton... I'm sure that it's not Anya's fault that Danny is in the bottom three. Besides, I'm sure the truth will all come out about who America likes best once people start voting on each individual dancer rather than as pairs. Then, it could be that we wouldn't see Anya in the bottom three, or Danny in the bottom three. Or it could be that we would... only time will tell! :)
So hilarious how so many of you want to blame Anya for Danny being in the bottom, when people are still voting for the PAIR of them.
So it means.. *gasps* People just don't like Danny as much as you think.
Stop trying to blame one person for Danny being in the bottom.
If you cared, pick up the phone and vote more next time.
Anyways, I'm glad Anya stayed. Her solos aren't any good, but when she dances with her partner she's beautiful. DO I think she'll win? No. She'll probably be gone next week if she's in the bottom again, but I think they made the right choice sending Shauna home.
All of the girls though are UBER talented so no matter who they send home it's gonna suck.
As for Cedric, he seems like such a sweet guy, but it was way past his time to go. Hope he learns more when he attends the dance school.
Anya is a good dancer... but I wonder if the judges like her because she is Danny's partner? Danny's such a good dancer that he makes his partner look good... lol.
Imagine a Danny/Shauna duo... THAT would have been awesome.
I'm not saying Anya's a bad dancer... she can definitely dance better than I can. :) I just preferred Shauna over her. Oh well, that's life!
Come on now guys...Vote Danny next week.. he NEEDS to be in top 10 and even top 2 so we can see more of him. I don't care anymore if he seems arrogant or not.. His solo took my breath away!! COME ON....DANNY fans.. VOTE VOTE VOTE!
I find it really interesting how we all bring our own "stuff" to our evaluations of these dancers. We have real footage on which to base our opinions of their dance skills but we have creative editing as our only glimpse at the dancers' real personalities.
For example, Danny's arrogance that gets so much play. Maybe he is maybe he isn't. He certainly seems like someone who doesn't connect well with others. And that last statement is just me hypothesizing with really nothing to go on.
Then someone mentioned that they thought Shauna was "stuck up." Huh!? Where does that come from? Is it because she isn't constantly mugging for the camera or grinning like the Cheshire Cat? To me she seems smart, nice, friendly, funny but just not goofy. But then I really liked O.J. as a crazy cop and thought he was probably a nice man. :-)
Seems like Danny and Shauna are judged harshly because they are more reserved. He's arrogant and she's stuck up.
Someone else mentioned Anya's mugging and making faces annoys them. I see more of that in Lauren and Lacey. After hearing contestants dressed down for not projecting during their performance (Jessica eliminated last year for that reason) you can understand why they might give it a little extra.
As for last night, Neil wins HUGE points with me for his Christopher Walken impression! Ha ha! I really like Anya but with Lauren safe I thought she should be the one to go. Let's not forget that Shauna did so very well these last 2 weeks with the weakest partner in the competition.
But what do I know?
The judges were right, Danny is missing something. He needs to find a way to reach out to the TV viewer. He can come across as arrogant at times.
I'm still po'd about Shauna. Of the 3 girls in the bottom group, I liked her the most. She seemed so real, so sweet, and she's an awesome dancer. Like others have said, I would have loved to have seen her dance with Danny. They would be so full of life together. I think the judges/producers have an agenda. I haven't agreed with many of the decisions this season. Grrrr.
By the way, does anyone know why ANYA wasn't in the opening number? If you notice there are only 6 female dancers while the guys are complete (7). Totally weird... I hope that guest judge didn't cut her out for some reason... I love Anya, hehehe...
Hi Rickey, would you be a dear and upload hilary duff's performance please? I missed the show... :( Thanks so much! :)
im glad cedric went out...:P
but shauna didnt deserve it..:(
but if u have to choose among jamie, anya n shauna..it will definitely be shauna :P
What did you think of Lacey's reaction to the "surprising" news that she was safe?
Masiado'ng ma'arte, no?!?!
Trying to be like Sabrix from the last results show. hahaha.
I read that Anya had a minor injury so that's why she was not in the group dance. She had a bandage around her ankle and wanted to rest it. Poor thing.
It was so obvious that Hilary was lip-syncing. ROFL. She looked so funny. Was she trying to belly dance? LOL.
Oh I forgot one more thing...
* I've been a big fan of Hilary Duff's music, but I lost a ton of respect for her tonight after she clearly lip-synced. Makes me pretty sure she's a studio creation.
Lip-syncing happens way too much on this show. Don't give me a fake performance. Either give me a singer who's really a talent and will perform live or give us some dance performances.
I thought Danny proved why he deserves to be in this competition for a while longer tonight. He's just amazing.
I didn't see Anya in the group dance. Was she there?
i agree about danny and anya being in the bottom 3 cuz of anya... people are voting for danny just because of his dancing, but there is nothing about anya that would make me want to pick up the phone and vote for her... didnt mind if anya or shauna went tho especially shauna cuz she seems so stuck up. i'm so HAPPY jaimie stayed, she deserves it! especially after that amazing jazz dance she and hok did last week!! incredible!! i'm also happy hok stayed instead of cedric.. cedric seriously had to go after making rickey and jimmy leave >_
* Danny finally showed the humility I've been waiting for. He seemed humble in his bottom 3 status and his solo was superb. And I was reminded with the recap of last night that Anya & Danny's performance was easily the best of the night.
* The opening performance was FABULOUS and so much fun. Honestly that's the first broadway performance I've enjoyed out of all 3 seasons. They should bring Adam back as a couple choreographer.
* Anya really got lucky cause they pretty much ignored her completely forgettable solo.
* Shauna really got screwed tonight, but unfortunately for her there wasn't a single girl that deserved to leave.
* Ditto to everyone who's pissed they'll only show the Schwimmers. It's a bunch of B.S. and the producers need to address it with the director. It would certainly add to Danny's humanity to see his family screaming their lungs out for him. Are we to believe that all the other performers' families don't care enough about their kids to show up?
ok seriously...what the heck??!! cedric-sure deserves to go home. but SHAUNA???!!! she's AMAZINGG!!! im truely shocked...
I don't know if it's the producers who are not showing Danny's family members. Afterall, Nigel is not holding the camera, it's someone else. Danny's mother could be blocked by another person, a pole, or the judges stand.
I don't think there's a conspiracy against Danny. I think it's just bad luck. Secondly, look at Travis last season crying on national television that his mother was there. They didn't aim the camera at her also. Travis was definitely a favourite of the judges last season.
I can see what the judges are saying about Danny having this je ne sais quois about his performance. I saw it in his eyes tonight that he was shocked that he was in the bottom 3. He definitely did not expect that. I thought all the couples were very strong (with the exception of Hok's waltz--sorry, but it was weak, and he is one of my favourites.) Everyone should be prepared. I have a funny feeling Neil and Lauren were prepared to be in the bottom 3 tonight by their reaction. Also, they were paired up against Cedric and Shauna. Everyone was expecting Cedric to be in the bottom 3 again.
If anyone should have gone home, it should have been Anya. I think she drags Danny down.
Wow! The judges made another terrible mistake!
Getting rid of Shauna!
Their original mistake of choosing to keep Cedric over other more talented dancers keeps compounding. This is causing dancers to be sent home before their time.
Shauna is far more versatile and is technically superior to Anya in just about every way.
I think back to their Hip Hop routines... Shauna was adorable and was very entertaining. I cringed watching Anya. Her expressions, ugg. Her moves were so unnatural~ even though her routine was more "lyrical hiphop" to cater to her shortcomings.
Compare their solos. I have never seen Anya leap like Shauna etc, etc.
As far as personality, true, Shauna has a quieter demeanor compared to some other contestants, yet this is a good thing because she is true to herself, genuine and unaffected. Her emotion totally comes through on stage.
Anya may be considered "more expressive" which seems to mean pulling faces and grimacing which I find really annoying. (lol 'Grimace' is actually the perfect nick name for her. It describes her contrived expressions and my reaction to them.)
I think Danny and Anya were in the bottom 3 specifically because of Anya. I have never been able to understand the rave reviews they have gotten together. Her expressiveness is as over the top as Danny's is understated. I don't think they balance each other out as a couple.
The judges missed out on a great opportunity to pair Shauna and Danny. (it wouldn't have been a perfect match, but an improvement for sure)
Please don't misunderstand, after all my critizims of Anya, I do realize she is amazingly talented. The entire top 20 is.
I just think Danny would let his guard down and show more personality if he had a younger partner who could make this experience fun.
Instead he is saddled with an older Russian professional dancer who studied international law and thinks skin tight animal print and fringe is cool. (How about the costume she wore last time she danced solo. Nice gloves.)
He is already serious, give him someone fun, talented and relatable that he can shine with, judges!
I'm sad about Shauna. :( She was one of my favorite girls. I figured they'd send home Cedrick, but not Shauna. :( She's wonderful!
I don't get! How do you justify NOT showing the face of a family member after the performer completes a routine? Especially the mother & the brother who is a masterful dancer himself & was also a runner-up to the winner of SYTYCD just last season!! This is all so contrived! If the executive producers have determined at the season's inception just what they were seeking in a winner this season but are choosing 2 add drama for ratings, then it is working.
I am starting to believe that this season of SYTYCD was NOT prepared for the magnitude of Danny Tidwell's talent. It definitely surpasses all other contestants this year to the point where the "judges" have chosen to nit-pik away the best dancer step by step...
Travis was there? I never knew. They never show Danny's family. I don't even know what Travis and Denise Wall look like.
I, too wanted a reaction shot on Denise Wall's face. They also didn't do a reaction shot of Travis after Danny's first performance. What the heck! We have the "pleasure" of seeing Benji's family every week, but not Danny's?! SHEESH!
It was Cedric's time...he seems really sweet but I think even he knew it was coming tonight.
Shauna was good but Jamie and Anya have shown the most range on the show...I love Anya. she is my favorite girl on the show.
I feel bad for Danny. I think he is getting a bad wrap. His personality isnt just annoyingly bubbly like some of the others and by comparison it makes him seem like he is "holding back" personality wise or they feel like something is missing. I thought both their performances yesterday were great and i didnt feel like they disconnected at all. IM going to be voting like crazy next week!
I am very extremely sad that Shauna was eliminated tonight. She was my favorite female dancer.
On a different note- where is the seventh girl and who is missing in the group dance?
You can't go by DialIdol... most people vote the old fashion way... by dialing the phone themselves! Go back and look at DialIdol results from week to week you'll see the flaws...
I was thinking the same thing !
I was so surprised that Danny & Anya were in the bottom 3, since they were in 2nd place right after Pasha & Sara on Dial Idol. I think the producers are heighten the drama and plus we get to see Danny perform a solo.
The producers aren't clueless; some of them read NY Times too !
It's about time Cedric went home. He's amazing at what he does best, but the other styles, and partnering in general are SO weak with him. It was becoming harder and harder to swallow the judges decisions to give him yet another chance while letting really talented dancers go. I mean Jesus was WAY more versatile and had more un-tapped really immediate potential to adapt to the new material than Cedric ever did. I'm not wishing ill on Cedric, but it was his time. Shauna may have been disadvantaged because of him, but her solo was obviously still not enough, and that's not Cedric's fault.
I'm so surprised Danny & Anya were in the bottom 3. They were in 2nd place right after Pasha & whatshername on Dial Idol. I wonder if the producers switched them with Sabra and Dominic to heighten the drama. Hmmm....
Wow. Anya's face is quite expressive. I have liked her from Day 1. Now, no matter what dance genre is selected next week for Danny/Anya, this evening's experience will heighten all of my favorite couples' sensibilities & they MUST bring it!
Gone now from SYTYCD. Anyway, Cedric was offered a spot in Debbie Allens' dance school. Good for him!
Finally, they let Cedric go...at least he left the show on a high note, the judges were happy that he showed growth and that's achievement enough :)
chicken ..morelike oh god i was able to finish this song , i hated her from the day she commented on sanjaya's singing.
