Sendhil Ramamurthy cast in ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Sendhil Ramamurthy has been cast in Beauty and the Beast on the CW.

He’s going to be a new love interest for Catherine!

It seemed like Cat and Vincent were finally making some progress in the winter finale of “Beauty and the Beast,” but there’s a new guy coming into the picture to further complicate their already-rocky dynamic. Zap2it has confirmed that “Heroes” star Sendhil Ramamurthy has been cast as Assistant District Attorney Gabriel Lowen.

“Strong on justice, Gabe spearheads the search for the vigilante and finds his focus drawn to the elusive Catherine,” The CW says of the lawyer, who is “from the upper echelons of NYC society.” He’ll first appear in episode 15, and will recur throughout the end of the season.

And Gabriel was the name of the guy who eventually kills Catherine and takes her baby (Vincent's) in the original series.
