It’s the first live show for The Voice this season. I’m exhausted. JeffreyChrist and Howard conclude that no matter how horrible some of the performances were tonight — The Voice is still far and away better than anything we’ve seen on American Idol this year (except Elise Testone). Agree… with a *tear*

Awww.....so much passion in the comments here. I like it! You don't have to agree with Rickey but he has every right to his opinion. Finally watched the Voice today since I don't watch it live because I rather look at Archie videos, lols.
I laugh so hard seeing Cee Lo in his get up, lols. He is a hoot. Xtina looked beautiful when she is covered up and her girls aren't flopping everywhere. :) Who cut Adam's hair because the top looked a little messed up, ok maybe it was just me, he is still HOT! Blake was pretty damn hawt too! Ok back to being serious, not.
Guys can't we just enjoy all the shows. It's just good tv and The Voice is making good tv right now.
My favorite from last night has to be Lindsay and Erin the rest were ok but they didn't connect enough for me at least. However I love the staging, it was cool and very polished and professional. I had to laugh at Charlotte because I couldn't understand a thing she was singing, she had shades of Heejun's diction in there. Still enjoyed the show overall and it was their first night live so I could sense the nerves in some of them. Jordis isn't as good as she use to be, she lost some of her edge and I was kind of bored but I hope she gets better with time. Chris was ok, nothing special.That little country girl was fun to watch but she was all over the place vocally but I see why she is popular.
Overall it was an ok night. The best thing about the show last night was Cee Lo's outfit and wig. I heart Cee Lo!
Yeah Elise Testone is still far better than anything on The Voice, that is for sure. :) Thanks for all the videos Rickey.
oh Rickey - you have such a river of tears. I like Chris too and Bridge song - but as JC said he's a Josh Groban light. And as JC said you're so sensitive :)
Good show but not great.. Although the iTunes tracks were much better then their performances.

Jessica Sanchez's "I Will Always Love You," "Everybody Has A Dream," "Love You I Do," or "Sweet Dreams" Joshua Ledet's "When a Man Loves a Woman," Erika Van Pelt's "New York State of Mind" or "I Believe in You and Me," Everything Elise sang....I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you, Rickey.

hahahahahahaha!! Rickey youre now going crazy on us ,, Better than A.I ?????????? Now I'm freaking pissed.Most of the performances were train wrecks. Pitchy, Staging as bad as X-Factor. Seriously, Rickey, Jessica, Skylar, Elise, Phillip, are better than anything we saw Yesterday.. Most of the people who performed yesterday wouldnt make it past Idol's Top 24. VFTW were so excited because 50% of the performances were VFTW worthy.
And just to see if I was the only one thinking this way, I decided to go through 5 Reality T.V recappers and you are the only one(blogger around) who thinks the voice has any talent.. I'm so disappointed with you Rickey. You know the truth and You wont admit it.. I really hope you can realize that you are wrong sooner rather than later. Because your'e losing faithful readers to MJ( Am I allowed to say her name on here??).
@Lombe You realize if you posted this ^ on that other blogger's site it would have been deleted immediately and your arse would have been summarily banned. BTW...I think it's the other way around Lombe...I know several from that place who grew tired of the militant negativism over there and are actively posting here.

It is impossible to tell which blog attracts more "Idol Fans", but inspite of all the blocking and deleting of comments, she usually generates a lot more comments on Idol articles than this site does.. I know that's by no means an indicator of anything, but maybe if Rickey was a lot more positive about Idol and he stopped Unfairly comparing Everything Idol does with The Voice ( Especially when Idol is still a lot better), A lot more readers like me, would enjoy both shows.
I was so upset about Rickey's rant last week after that incredible Top 9 week. ( yes the 5 standing O's were not warranted but that episode of Idol must be in the Top 10 Idol episodes of all time, and Top 2, "Top 9 week episodes" of all time on Idol", so I decided to watch The Voice and see what he would say about it in his secret show, and he definitely isn't using 1 standard for both shows,.
@Lombe While I agree that last night's "the voice" wasn't really all that great, I disagree about the standing ovation night on idol. For me, only elise was a true standout. Everyone else was mediocre at best. Elise is the only thing I will remember from that episode and if that was one of idol's top shows ever, then the show is in worse shape than even Rickey has ever accused it of being in.
@Lombe I haven't been on her blog much, but it was the comments that kept me from being interested. Sure there are lots of comments. Lots and lots of inane "me too" style comments. Maybe that's result of the blogger deleting comments from people who don't fit what she's going for and maybe it's not, but it was super boring. I'd rather read comments from people I don't agree with that are at least interesting than just a bunch of fan boy comments that all agree with the blogger/each other.
@Mikhail XO That was a darn good episode. We all know by now that the judges are mentally deranged and they gave Standing O's to the wrong people , but we both know that was a million notches above mediocre. Especially if you compare that to yesterday's Voice episode// I'm sure you've read all the recaps on every Entertainment website. And every1( except Rickey Yaneza) appreciates that, in-spite of the judges Mind-less rumblings, that was a darn good episode.. Jessica was heavenly, Elise was just the best. Phillip was passionate and for the 1st time, I wasnt irritated by his voice. Even the weakest two performances, Hollie and DeAndre, were better than most of what we saw last night. Even Heejun's performance was really good, albeit not worthy of a standing O, but it gave me goosies(Shoot me for saying that).

@Lombe The five standing ovation night was a new absurdity. They keep thinking of new ways to celebrate mediocrity (< I stole that line from some Pixar film). When everyone is 'special' it means nobody is.
@Lombe You can leave if you want. You don't need my permission. If you only knew how horrible that person is in real life. She alienated so many writers with how she treated The X Factor.
And what do you mean staging "as bad as The X Factor"? I thought you were a fan of that show.
If you are not a fan of The Voice, then you should avoid Mondays and Tuesdays on Rickey.org - plain and simple.
@Rickey @Lombe Rickey, it's pretty hypocritical to call her a "horrible person" for alienating x factor people when you are doing the exact same thing in regards to idol. She is tame with X factor compared to how you treat idol and pretend that the Voice is the best thing ever. Funny, the Voice had new lows in ratings, yet as of now you have yet to post them. If idol had those ratings, you would be right on it and call the show "dead." Since you havent posted them yet, I guess I will: 4.1 10.67
@Rickey I'm only telling you this for the good of the blog. I've been reading this blog for the past 3 years, and thats how come I've been reluctant to leave. All I'm asking is be objective, Be realistic. You know for a fact, last nights live show wasnt as good as anything we've seen on Idol this year or even X-factor last year, unyet you still religiously preach on how good The Voice is. Call it as it is and not as how you wish it was
I never visited MJ during X-Factor so I dont know about that, but at least whenever I read her stuff, she sounds objective and she calls, it as it is. MJ, Lindsey Parker, Michael Slezak, Annie Barett. They all appreciate that Idol has a pretty talented bunch this year and the Voice contestants wouldnt hold a candle to them. I want to enjoy watching The Voice, but you need to stop making these Ridiculous Comparisons, about two shows playing in different leagues.
B.T.W, I love the X-Factor's format and Style, but I didn't like the awful staging one bit.I want to hear the Amazing voices of Melanie Amaro, and Rachel Crow, and not see the ridiculous back-up dancers messing up the performance and 'The Voice' more than most should know that, after all, Its supposed to be about "THE VOICE"/ That being said, I did enjoy the male strippers,(The Only thing I remember from last Night, ARGHH, Cant get it out of my head)

@jlscott13 @Lombe @Rickey Sorry. That was low even for this silly show. Even Blake was disgusted... "Male strippers on THE VOICE?!", he lamented. Isn't it all about "the voice"... how judges turning around for "the voice"? Before y'all start saying "Xfactor" is gimmicky too. Well, Xfactor doesn't claim to be about "the voice". It's not so blatantly hypocritical.

Uh, no. Your bias is showing. Most people agreed that the worst episode ever of idol was better than this mess.
I love Jordis. I want her to win, and I think she is one of the best talents The Voice has to offer--but come on. Better than Elise? Jeffrey called it right: the contestants of Idol < the contestants of the Voice < Elise Testone.

@IdleTime Corrections my message above ^ J-bot was on AGT, not Star Search, 5+ years ago; Jordis was on RS INXS 7 (not6) years ago.

@IdleTime Such spin. Jessica-bot was on Star Search 2006---5+ years ago. Jordis was on Rock Star INXS in 2005, 6+ years ago--there is no difference! Stop trying to prove that Idol is the most relative and influential show on tv by spinning facts to support your bias...nobody cares! We like what we like!
Well the contestants AI used from Star Search were like children when they were on that show. By the time the got on AI, it's like they're a different person. And I already addressed the issue the contestants who had had recording contracts in the past. I don't care about that. The issue isn't about being fair. I just have issues with these so-called career singing contestants. I've seen you before. I don't want to see you again.
@IdleTime @Mikhail XO @Rickey @bwatt27 Does Star Search count as a reality contest? And Junior Star Search? Cause AI has never steered away from those contestants. Nor people who had contracts with the labels.
@Mikhail XO @Rickey @bwatt27 Another typical "well, it's not for you then don't watch it". Can't I express my opinion on an episode that i caught or only come in here with praises? I didn't make a point of watching this show. Glossed over it in the past 2 years. Just happened to be home last night and was flipping channels. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Jordis. All the fake emotions about her seeing her family in the audience... Ugh! You've been down this road before, miss huhnay.
@Rickey @hrstump @bwatt27 I don't care about that. It's not about being fair. It's about entertainment for me as a viewer. I just don't want to see another tV contestant from a previous SINGING show on what supposed to be a new sensational singing show. It feels stale and desperate. I was never really exposed to Smithson before, so for me she was "fresh". Jordis is NOT fresh for me because she was on that show week after week. She was even a "frontrunner" (and far more edgy than she is on the Voice now).
Honestly, I wouldn't go that far to say The Voice is far and away better than anything on Idol.
