Not a fan of counrty. Scotty is OK but he sounds like every other country singer. Give me some Haley!!!!!

Liked this better just listening to the audio than watching it live. I thought the simpleness of the arrangement set it apart from the other three. What I thought was the best is when he changed it up the second time through the chorus. Very nice job.

clearly not many from outside the states are a fan of country.....i'm in love with country...i'm just as in love with Scotty...he said he'd never dance with the devil because he loves Jesus...that makes me admire him more ^_^

Ladies and Gentleman you are looking at this years American Idol....I pegged this kid to win it months ago.....way back in the audition shows and he has been the clear standout week after week.....the next american idol will be scotty

I wasn't giving Scotty credit for the lyrics....just pointing out what the message of the song was, and that it was not a case of wrapping himself in the flag.

was alright. more of the same. a timely song choice tho, with what's going on in the U.S. that's worth quite a few votes right there.

Granted Pia has an awesome voice, but she sings ballads every week. Still didn't think that was enough a reason for her to go that early, but that's another story. Scotty, on the other hand, can pull of a ballad or a fast number or anything else in between - just that he's country? Don't think he consciously makes an effort to stay in his comfort zone every week

I didn't find it boring at all. The other singers were blasting away....some good (Lauren), some not so good (Haley, James)....so it was refreshing that he chose to sing an emotional song with the perfect level of intensity. "Just a singer of simple songs" If you were familiar with the song, you'd know it's about being overwhelmed by 9/11...and trying to understand it.

I love that song, and he performed it well. All you haters obviously just dont like country music and that is why you are always ragging on Scotty!! This was so amazing!!

Scotty is Country. Why shouldn't he stick to his strongest genre? The song is boring and a bad choice, and his voice dropped many times so we couldn't hear the last note very well. Not his best performance. But, I still am a fan of his. I don't know why Pia left - maybe because she tried so hard to be like J-Lo? Or because she's not that original? Those are my feelings about her.

What's new? I could still remember past few seasons where judges are looking for someone who soar and took the risk. Where's the risk with Scotty?
