I dont think it's fair to rate Scotty on the song choice and say it's boring because that song was chosen by Jimmy and not himself. Hence, we should judge based on how good he did that song, and I think he did a FANTASTIC job, made it very upbeat and expressive. How much more can you do on a song like that. Every genre of songs will be boring to each person according to his preference and I'm sure a lot of country fans out there finds blues and Rock boring but dont really kick such a fuss about it. We judge voices, not songs or categories. But all in all, I think Scotty is a perfect American Idol, given all the qualities combined. Cheers Scotty! Very composed and steady, I take my hats off you.
I wouldn't say this is the toughest song to sing (especially compared to You Oughtta Know), but I LOVE this song and I think Scotty did a pretty good job with it. Even though it's technically a duet by Thompson Square, the male vocalist sings all the verses and the female vocalist only harmonizes the chorus in the original song.

No, we are obviously hearing a different song and singer named Scotty McCreepy, because on my tv, he was dull, boring and had a two octave range. Zzzzzzzzzz....
It's brutal listening to a singer that can't even hold a note long enough to sing a melody.

I don't think Jimmy likes Scotty- because didn't the judges say just a couple weeks ago that they didn't want to hear the contestants trying to sing songs done by duos? LOL
He did a better job this time than last, but his voice did go off during the last chorus again. I don't know what is up with that. But I think this is the kind of song they'll pick for him when he gets signed.

Scotty's going to be a HUGE star. There's no doubt in my mind. He shows amazing stage presence and performs way beyond his years. I love Haley and Lauren too, but Scotty's ready for prime time NOW.
