Scott MacIntyre — The Search is Over — Video MP3 — American Idol 8 Top 8

I have listened to this performance so many times in the past 5 weeks now. Still, I believe that he did not deserve to go home that week. You can call me deaf, but I agree with him when he said it was a good performance. There were worse performances that night. It's true, some of the judges' criticisms were undue. Too bad many people listen to what they say.

Anyways, I believe Scott will be successful (actually, he already is) and I'm supporting him all the way.

this was the worst he's ever sounded on the show. and that says a lot because he's extremely mediocre in the first place. i'm not saying he's not talented, because he is talented, he can carry a tune, play the piano and the guitar evidently, i actually think he could have a career in adult contemporary or even country (if kelly pickler can, this guy's more talented than her by leaps and bounds). but i think he needs some voice lessons and i think he needs some stage direction. but this was absolutely godawful. inspiring or not, let's not delude ourselves people. that was not sung well by any stretch of the imagination. worst of the night so far. lil better thank her lucky stars.

There is something about his voice that is very pleasant, very rich, with a lot of potential, however, I think the problem may be that he is singing these pop songs with a very precise, fully enunciated, vocal-class-training style and that style, if that is what to call it, makes the whole sound very strange and uncomfortable to listen to. In this performance, there were some phrases where his voice sounded really great - the tone especially - but sometimes I feel like he is singing as if he were painting by numbers. He needs to allow his voice to color outside the lines. I don't think he will get the chance on AI, but maybe the summer tour will loosen him up a bit.

I think people are, unfortunately, looking into this performance retrospectively. In other words, the performance only sounds terrible from a negative filter that the judges have forced onto the viewers at home through their comments. If one listens to the performance another time with an open mind, one can see that the singing is actually very good. The only terrible problem (that even I couldn't tolerate) was at 0:35-0:33 from the end on Rickey's video at the peak, high note. This, by no means, is an argument that Scott's performance was the best or even in the top three. Rather, it's an argument that (1) the performance was definitely not the worst of the group (e.g. Lil's), (2) Scott has a whole bunch of talent, and (3) people are being unnecessarily deprecating toward him due to bias from the judges as opposed to an actual tabula rasa judgment.

He's definitely got my vote, because I want to see what's left; however, if he doesn't make it, Scott will only treat this as a learning experience, should be proud of his placement, and will undoubtedly see many successes in his future. I'm a fan.

he was pretty great!! mabey if people realized that mabey he might of been on the nervous side...if he took one wrong move he could have broke his neck!! we love ya scotty!!!!!!

OMG that was painful to listen to. Sorry Scott you have to scoot.

Scott is a really neat guy, but, he has to go this week. His performance was even cheesier than the past ones, and he was so out of tune that I wished I was deaf. I know that's mean, but, honestly, he has got to go.

That was his worst performance of the competition. Plus he is way too bland -- and while that is his style -- it is time for him to go.

Still, a great accomplishment for him to get this far.

the judges should keep it real. scott's not just that good, blind or not. barry manilow sounded better but he wrote all those great songs.

It was awful!!! it was off key so bad..And just because he is blind people are not going to continue to have sympathy on him..Oh sympathy votes have we heard that before and frankly he has become quite cocky too..He really thinks he is much better than he is..He argues alot with the judges..Time to release the BRAILLE!!!

Scott was horrible tonight. I actually had to leave the room. Sorry, not embracing anything about this performance. I hope he is the one eliminated tomorrow night. Can't take him anymore.

I didn't like it either he couldnt hit a lot of the notes...

"Out of tune" as usual, the guy was all over the place pitchwise tonight. That was not good.

It wasn't as bad as I think American will think the judges made it out to be. It's at this point, now, though... His time is about up. Who goes home this week? He's likely the weakest SINGER. I love Scott, though. If I had AT&T, I'd text the word VOTE!

every song sounds the same with scooter. he's not very good at taking criticism either.

I liked all but about 2 notes in the middle where he went off key a bit. I wasn't impressed with his guitar playing though.

That was absolutely awful and not one of the judges said anything about his being out of tune. Was difficult to listen to.
