Say Goodbye to ‘American Idol’ With Documentary Featuring Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, More (VIDEO)

In preparation for the farewell season of American Idol, FOX has released a documentary retrospective on the series. And they’ve gotten some pretty big names from the show’s past for the mini-documentary.

The documentary features comments from familiar faces including Simon Fuller, original judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, as well as host Ryan Seacrest and current judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr. No Nigel Lythgoe, but eh, what can you really do? We also don’t get any mention of Ellen Degeneres, Mariah Carey or Nicki Minaj, but I think the show is as keen to forget those panel choices ever happened as the stars themselves. Of course, Lythgoe will be back for the final episode of American Idol in April, and all eleven judges (yes, even Ellen, Nicki and Mariah) will be back for Season 15 in some capacity. So this should be a pretty interesting season overall. The new season premieres January 6, 2016. But until then, take a nice 20-minute trip down memory lane with this American Idol mini-doc below:
