Sarah Michelle Gellar, whose last crack at the TV game, The CW’s Ringer, didn’t exactly pan out, is now looking to take another stab at the small screen. This time, she follows the example set by fellow Buffy alum Alyson Hannigan, opting to sign on for a sitcom, as opposed to another dreary, mysterious drama that may or may not last more than a season at a time. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
The as-yet untitled sitcom follows two moms and their adventures while their children are at school (so lots of wine, then?), said a contact at 20th Century Fox TV. The series is the brainchild of Men at Work writer Shephard Boucher, and is still in the script-writing phase. However, the best case scenario would see Gellar back on TV for the fall 2013-2014 TV season. Until then, enjoy the Burger King commercial she starred in as a child, embedded below. Why? Hell, why not?
