Although many talented people get eliminated but i like some of them like nick pedro and leslie made an interesting way of leaving, while AJ should not be one of them but after all it's not 100% singing competition, see what happen to Antonella, she was worst than last week and probably the worst appearance i ever seen on AI (i better listen to Jordin sparks audition when she sing "because you love me") and why she always sings after great peformance? last week she sang after Sabrina and this week after Melinda doolitle, she kinda ruin the memory of the previous one, and she's not really pretty i think Jordin sparks is more beautiful than her.
Anyway i'm really excited to finally hear jason mraz and jamiroquai song in this competition, it brought new rythim to the show, chris richardson is hot ;)

I was so happy when they said sanjaya was staying, but i liked Aj as well. Sanjaya just made me like him even more when he admitted he thought he was going home because it proves how humble he is. And as for leslie GOODBYE. I honestly i wasnt a big fan of her.

I agree. People's careers and future incomes are being affected for a few cheap laughs. Pretty low.

This season is turning out to be a joke. Voting is compromised by websites that encourage others to vote for the worst, which elevates poor singers like Antonella and Sanjaya over the more talented vocalists. Can anyone honestly say that Antonella and Sanjaya even belong with the caliber of talent still there? Voting for the worst makes a mockery of the show, and worse yet punishes those who actually do have talent; they are sent home early at the expense of a few laughs from people who don't like the show. If you don't like AI, then don't watch it and subsequently ruin it for the viewers and the unfortunate contestants who end up with the short end of the deal. This is no longer a talent show; rather, it has evolved into a mock/hate fest for the show and its contestants. I hope the producers can come up with a solution that will eliminate the fraudulant voting system, otherwise AI won't survive another season.

I voted for Leslie! Love her smokey singing voice and her sense of humor which was really all she was showing with that scat phrase - the whole thing with people getting pissed at her about it is so LAME. She just seemed to have an ability to laugh things off, like she wasn't taking it all too seriously (she did that with Simon's nasty comments also), which I suspect comes with livng with a disease like Lupus (bit of a healthier, less drama queen outlook). So much more interesting and so much more sophistication than An-Toiletella!

I'm very saddened that AJ especially went home last night. I don't understand how people could think he was boring. Leslie was unique, but unfortunately this yr. would find it hard to compete w/ some of the vocal powerhouses(i.e. Melinda, LaKisha, Sabrina,etc.).
Sadly America just doesn't get it right most of the time. I only started voting last yr and that was for Elliott Yamin. Look where that got me. I am trying so hard not to get vested into any of the contestants this yr.
I just feel that AJ was a truly talented singer, as well as entertaining. He gave 110 % w/ his performances. I would have loved to hear more from him. Even Paula more or less commented that Hey America, this is a singing competition.
Oh well enough w/ the complaining. I don't really have the right as I didn't pick up the phone and vote.

AJ was starting to grow on me. Great performances last week and this week as well. He's on pitch and really puts his heart and soul into his performances! Best of wishes AJ!

I'm sad. I liked AJ & Nick & Leslie (& yes voted for them some. More for Melinda & Chris S. as I like them better.) I was really hoping that Brandon & Sanjaya or Jared would go home - don't like them. Don't like Anonella either but knew I was stuck with her because of the teenage boy vote after the pictures. (The ex-boyfriend is a skank slimeball, btw.)

To the people that are "outraged" that AJ and Leslie are gone. Did you VOTE for them? Because if you didn't, you've got nothing to say. You contributed to your own anger.

Heck, I voted for Leslie HARD (and Sanjaya). I'm a bit disappointed but not surprised. Maybe because I knew she had no chance of winning (neither did AJ by the way), I have no sense of "outrage".

Because the cold hard FACT is - if America didn't bother to vote for these people, they sure as hell wouldn't be motivated to PURCHASE AN ALBUM.

Especially at this stage of the game. If a contestant can't inspire votes and LOYALTY up until at LEAST Top 10 on this show - then they're not worth a record companies effort.

THIS is the purpose of having America vote. I still think Sanjaya is worth developing as an artist.

Look at Bucky Covington and Kellie Pickler. Neither of them had "supah stah!" written all over them. Nor were they burning up the stage with their amazing presence and vocal prowess.

No one could rightfully say that they were fully formed and ready to go into the music business. But each of them had potential and fans found them appealing (I personally loved me some Bucky and voted every week for him until he left).

Bucky and Kelly got record deals, and the labels worked with them. Now Kellie's record has gone gold. Bucky has toured with Sawyer Brown successfully, put a record out and no has a song on the radio doing well.

Looking back, we know both of them lasted longer than singers that were "technically" better but just couldn't strike America's fancy.

AJ was good Tuesday, that's true. But he's also kinda boring. And Paul Kim wasn't voted off becauase he was Korean. He was just bad. The reason Jasmine and Carmen didn't do well over here? They weren't that good either. But you can't say the producers didn't try-- they flew the judges out to Hawaii.

What I find really interesting though, is your claim that America is only black and white. Uhm...Mario Vasquez anyone? Did you completely forget about 20% of America's Hispanic population? And I don't see them complaining because Nick Pedro got voted off.

Stop making it a race thing-- it's a talent show. I'm not a bad Asian because I prefered Latoya London to Jasmine or Blake Lewis to Paul Kim. I think that just means I have taste.

I am so sad. AJ is awesome! He was my favorite this season. I've never had a favorite who got sent home this early on in the season.

AJ has a wonderful voice, and his performances were awesome. He's fun and entertaining, while still singing beautifully and in tune.

I liked Nick and Leslie a lot, and Alaina was not the worst girl Wed night. I'd put at least two of the girls' performances below hers.

I think that AJ got screwed the most tonight, though. He was one of the best out of everyone there. He even sang amazingly well after they gave him his send-off. I am heart-broken. :(

Listen I love American Idol. Love the whole setup. Love how they draw us in to love these kids and want to see them do well on the show and with their lives. Love the format. Predictably insane but it's our show and we're sticking to it.

So why am I always surprised, year after year, when the votes go for popularity and not the singer?

I feel bad Nick Pedro went. It was not his time to go. LOVE how he shook the hands of the remaining guys. A beautiful gesture. True gentleman. His voice will carry him through somewhere in the entertainment business because he does have a unique voice. He did not pop off the stage so let him work on that a bit and I suspect he has a career waiting for him.

Alaina: felt so bad when she forgot her lyrics but WHO could blame her? She knew this part of her life was over and her Big Shot was probably just taken away from her. She recovered quickly and was wise to get the girls to come down to hug her until she composed herself.

AJ goes home? NOT Sanjaya? COME ON. Come on. If you are being true to the competition, it cannot be denied that AJ had it heads and tails over Sanjaya. And Brandon. And Jared. AJ was a great entertainer. A very lush voice. It was SO wrong to have him voted off. Simon, Paula and Randy could not have been more blunt in their admonition to the voting audience. Pushing Sanjaya through is not fair to US... or to him. This is not an internship. This is a shot to be a Big Famous Entertainer. Sanjaya is not ready for this and not vocally equipped to carry a show, let alone a song. I hate being so blunt myself but there's nothing wrong with honesty here. Nice kid. Big smile. Fluffy hair. A singer born to command the stage? No. He's in WAY over his head and I think he knows it as well. :{

Poor Leslie. You knew she was doomed with her lack of major exposure pre- Top 24 performances. Funny, gawky, herky jerky style but she could sing. Her final line-- "WHY DID I SCAT?" -- just made me roar. It was funny but she was right: she did something that while risky and adventurous just didn't work. She has tough competition-- but NOT in Toiletta or even Haley for that matter. Keeping those two and sending Leslie home was mean. Haley has another week to redeem herself but Toiletta is a MESS. Bad singer, lousy, mousy on stage persona, with a planned comeback zing to Simon re: the Jennifer Hudson comment. She is obnoxious. Not even talking about the darn pictures. Who cares? She's not as hot as she would like to make you think she is. She is too into herself. Goodbye. Go home. Stop stealing votes from singers that KNOW what they are doing.

Jessica Simpson won't be my best friend after this but I realized tonight that Toiletta is a darker-haired Simpson. They have that same sprayed-on tan skin and that same sprayed-in breathy, tinny voice. Send the girl back to the bathroom where she belongs!

Although Leslie has a nice voice, she wasn't my favorite. However, I did vote for her a couple of times last night because I figured it was one way to vote against Antonella. Also, as much as Melinda is my girl in this competition, I wanted to avoid having all divas (plus Antonella) making the top 12. Leslie could've added something different to the mix. I'm kind of bummed that she's gone.

As much as I hate seeing what just happened tonite with AJ, I knew it's gonna happen knowing that America never really wanted someone of asian descent proliferating in their TV screen.

As much of a talented person AJ is, he won't have a career here in the US. America won't let him.

If I'm AJ, I'll just go to the Philippines where he will be treated like a Star, see how Jasmine is now over there. Jasmine was not accepted here but she was widely been welcomed in the Philippines and is very popular over there. It just sucks that Filipino-Americans who are rejected in America always ends up in the Philippines where showbizness is cheezy.

I totally agree. I think Sanjaya would be great singing early Michael or El Debarge. There's a rumor that there might be a Michael Jackson week. If there is, it would definitely be worthwhile to keep Sanjaya around for it.
I'm sure Sanjaya'd benefit from working with him and Michael would probably really like working with Sanjaya.

I heard Antonella's ex on a radio interview yesterday morning. The ex has promised more offerings the longer Antonella stays on AI. He claims to have very racy photos videos etc. Apparently the first set on antonellabarbapix.com was just a preview. If he keeps it up she won't need vote for the worse to stick around.

I missed the very end when Leslie was singing. Watching the video was funny, at least she has a sense of humor. She really wasn't that bad of a singer.

I love Sanjaya he seems like such a sweetheart, maybe he should try singing a Michael Jackson song sometime.

I thought it was interesting that they made AJ and Sanjaya stand together. Ryan didn't say anything like they were the bottom two. I think the producers just wanted to make a point by standing them together and the good old AI drama to p*** folks off.

i supported a.j. tabaldo..but now he is gone i think i will support sanjaya so their will be one asian left there.

Man, that's a real bummer about Leslie and A.J. They weren't even my favorites or anything, but they were definitely original. I think it was really brave of Leslie to do scat, and it's disappointing that America didn't "get" it, cuz that stuff is hard to sing. And no matter how bland AJ is, he sang his heart out both Tuesday and tonight, and I can't believe he got sent home.

I do like Sanjaya, too. Not just the fact that he's so gosh-darn nice, but I actually quite like the sound of his voice. The song he picked wasn't particularly superchallenging, but his tone has got such a smooth, old school quality to it. And although it's not for everyone, it's very unique, especially for someone his age. Personally, Fred Astaire seems a very fitting song choice from him. But like Leslie, I just don't think America's into that right now, which is more a matter of taste than talent. Because from a technical standpoint Blake and Chris R. (both whom I adore, btw) aren't stellar vocalists, but they've got very distinctive voices. And I guess cuz JT is in right now, it's a little more well-received.

I predict that Sanjaya will have more of a reaction like that red-head from Season 3- John Stevens? Young, really classic style voice. You either adore him or hate him.

couldn't agree more with snuffles :) true, sanjaya needs to work extra hard this weekend - finding the right uptempo song so as to maximize the power/gain of his voice etc - but good character and personality also appeal to the voters, and he has shown that already throughout the competition so far. so, again, may the force of your 1,1 billion distant supporters from afar always be with you, sanjay-ji!!
