Wow, she has the arms of a body-builder’s. Eye-popping. O_O
Stosur started the fight to overcome her home-nation demons with a 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 win against Kai-Chen Chang of Taipei on Rod Laver Arena this afternoon.
The world No.9 didn’t pass the test with honours, more a B-plus tick against an opponent ranked 86 in the world.
Stosur said the win was a big weight off her shoulders.
“I’m very happy and relieved – it is nice to get through the first round finally,” she said,
“From here hopefully I can loosen up a little bit and keep playing better and better.
“I definitely feel like I’ve improved over the last few weeks heading into this match.
“It is hard to prove that when you’re not winning matches.
“But I do feel better and I think that showed today.”
