Rumored WWE Pay-Per-View Schedule For 2017 Leaks Online

We’re not yet through with 2016, but it looks like WWE has already set its schedule for 2017.

A redditor leaked a tentative pay-per-view schedule for 2017, listing the return of some older names like New Year’s Revolution, and gimmick PPVs like Elimination Chamber, which was kept off the schedule in 2016. Granted, the sheer amount of pay-per-views listed here flies in the face of earlier reports that WWE was looking to scale back on the number of pay-per-views in 2017, so take this list with a grain of salt. But it all seems pretty plausible.

Find out if a WWE pay-per-view is coming to your area by checking out the list below (TBD specifies a pay-per-view named to be determined):

It’s interesting that Money In the Bank is a Smackdown-exclusive pay-per-view, rather than a joint-branded show. Will Raw even have its own Money In the Bank match this year? Or will the concept be exclusive to Smackdown? Granted, Raw’s June and July pay-per-views are TBD, so we could see a Raw-branded Money In the Bank show. But then, why not just make it a joint-branded show in the first place? That said, I think it’s interesting that the gimmick pay-per-views have been divvied up in such a way that Raw gets all the cage match shows (Elimination Chamber, Hell In A Cell) while Smackdown gets the ladder match shows (MITB, TLC). I’m not sure if this approach is necessarily the best, but it does make both brands feel relatively distinct, in the sense that each brand has its own exclusive gimmicks.

Of course, WWE has yet to officially confirm this list, so it’s all just rumors and speculation right now. For one, it doesn’t seem likely that Smackdown would get its own pay-per-view on the same month as a joint-branded show, but the schedule lists New Year’s Revolution and the Royal Rumble for January. For NYR being so close, we haven’t really heard anything about it, although that doesn’t necessarily rule it out as a possible WWE Network special, like the Beast In the East house show card. I guess we’ll see as we get closer to 2017.

But what do you think of the schedule? Sound off in the comments!
