Ron Burgundy to Host Canadian Curling Championships
Not to be confused with non-Canadian curling championships, of which there are probably none.
Ferrell will be in Winnipeg in character to host Tim Horton’s Roar of the Rings (one of six sporting events that same day) which will select the curling team to represent Canada in the Olympics.
“Marked by the gods of broadcasting and placed into this shimmering green sphere like a golden egg in hay, chosen like an unclean jackal by Noah himself, I accept your hallowed task and sing out with a battle cry worthy of your love and your wisdom. And that song is, ‘Winnipeg, get ready to paint the town Burgundy!'” Ferrell announced in a statement about the event.
This is just one of many upcoming marketing stunts to promote the Anchorman sequel, Emerson College’s school of communication will be renaming itself to the Ron Burgundy School of Communication on December 4 and Burgundy is also expected to appear on Sports Center on December 5.
