Rihanna In Talks To Become X Factor Judge

Hmm. It’s being reported that Rihanna is now in talks to become a judge on The X Factor. Producers have begun negotiations to get her on the panel. In other news, Britney Spears is apparently out of the running.

HollywoodLife.com has learned exclusively that ‘X Factor’ producers want Rihanna on the panel — and Britney Spears is out of the running.

Could Rihanna find herself sitting pretty next to Simon Cowell this fall? An insider at The X Factor tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that negotiations have started for the “Birthday Cake” singer to be added to the show’s illustrious panel — which is pretty vacant after Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were fired from the show.

Our source adds that discussions for Britney Spears to also join the panel are “pretty much dead.” But that’s OK — We need Britney to focus on making new music!

This is getting annoying. I would rather have a really good judge that people don't know than some popular singer who is just gonna give generic commentary.

I would prefer to have an older female judge like a motherly figure like Paula was in XFUS or Dannii in XFUK. Simon needs to get Shania Twain, Celine Dion, even Mariah maybe... maybe.

@TweetsFromFrank Hehe, I'm totally post flooding since we can't edit to add...but L.A. Reid really should be put into a role like Jimmy Iovine and not mentor - oversee the entire group. That would open up his spot for a guy who's interesting. I'll throw Chuck D, Snoop Dog, George Clinton, and why not...Stevie Wonder out there.

Get some entertaining former Idols to host, because they would know the ropes and be able to interact with the current contestants better. The show should be more about the contestants any way. Pickler is amusing, and I bet Sanjaya would do it for a bag of weed and a stack of Taco Bell gift cards :P

@TweetsFromFrank Mariah declined, very rudely. She thinks she's too big for the show. Well, she is a lard arse... No to the others. He needs women with more legitimacy and history. How about Aretha Franklin? Bonnie Raitt, Deborah Harry - one can go on and on. He needs to go further back into popular music history and pull up some people with experience and character.

How exactly is this going to help the show's reputation? Keep throwing names out there and have them reject the offer? Huh? To most normal people that equals FAIL.

Simon needs to come out of the closet and stop trying to prove to people he's straight, not, and stop the "sexy women" thing. It's going to be his downfall. He got away with trite women in the UK as show fluff, but it won't work in the US.

@rezzzy Nic-Ho had to go...agreed. In fact, I'd prefer they hire the likes of Miley Cyrus over her, she wouldn't have been worse. Nic-Ho was hired for her titties and glistening complexion. Paula was fine...not sure why she was fired since they sort of knew what they were getting and she delivered at that low level. Guess they thought a shake up was in order. Like the Debbie HArry suggestion...couldn't handle looking at Cher's face for an entire show...it doesn't move and it scares me. Maybe like an 80's female rocker who still performs..Pat Benatar. What about Alanis Morrisette or Ann Wilson...even Nancy f Ann is too hefty thee days. But Simon wants a young, sexy current performer. He is such an insufferable DB.

Riri over Britney any day. Why is everyone hating on Rihanna? They can find another judge that is experienced in a different genre to balance it out.

@AprilJ Britney is far better than Rihanna in my book...

mostly b/c she is back (even if just musically) with Chris Brown her abuser, that's why she gets so much hate.

@jlscott13 They should get a judge like Faith Hill to fill the last spot and it would be a good mix. Simon would talk sense into Rihanna for sure... he cares too much about the X Factor brand to let Chris Brown mess with her. Maybe it will be good for her.

BAD MOVE..RHINO DOESN'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT DIVERSITY OF MUSIC AND IS MUCH TOO YOUNG TO BE A SERIOUS JUDGE..SIMON GET SOMEONE WITH 20 YRS EXPERIENCE IN THE BIZ THAT HAS A FINE EAR..PAULA AND YOU R THE ONLY ONES WHO DO LA REID IS ONLY FOR URBAN MUSIC..THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND THAT.
