An interview surfaced in which actor Ian McKellen accidentally “outs” his co-stars Lee Pace and one unnamed dwarf. So the internet responded by saying Pace is dating Richard Armitage.

Can this be true? OH MY GOD CAN THIS PLEASE BE TRUE!?!

It all started when a German interview was translated, during which McKellen was asked what the difference between being out in 2001 (when the Lord of the Rings films first came out) versus being out now in 2012 for The Hobbit is like.

The translated response reads:

Brash: Still, there is hardly colleagues who follow your example, right?

Ian McKellen: I would say that has been done in this regard in the last ten years in the industry a lot. Just look only how many openly gay actors in the “Hobbit” with were: two of the dwarves, to Luke Evans, Stephen Fry, Lee Pace. In “The Lord of the Rings” I was the only one next to it there was my make-up artist and one from the wardrobe team. That’s only once a progress, right?

Unfortunately, Lee Pace has yet to come out publicly and only one of the dwarves (Adam Brown) has actually confirmed this which leaves one homosexual dwarf unaccounted for.

This is where the internet comes in, with photographic evidence that Richard Armitage and Lee Pace are a couple. Or you know, are making a movie together and spend time with one another.

Meaning Thranduil and Thorin Oakenshield have finally put aside their differences and are riding around Middle-earth on that elk together! Headcanon accepted!

Evidence includes a private photo of the stars at a family dinner together and driving around in a golf cart while covered in children, both of which appeared on Tumblr.

Of course this is all just speculation, but if you ask us it’s the best speculation ever.

Gollum as ring-bearer at their wedding please!
