Following the news that Alan Ritchson, of the upcoming film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, has landed the role of Raphael in the Michael Bay-produced ‘Ninja Turtles’ reboot comes word that the remaining three turtles have been cast.
Deadline reports that ‘Turtles’ leader Leonardo will be played by Pete Ploszak, while Jeremy Howard will don the motion capture suit to play studious inventor Donatello. Lastly, Noel Fisher will step into the role of party guy Michaelangelo.
Fisher is a regular on the Showtime series Shameless, and was recently seen in History’s hit miniseries ‘Hatfields & McCoys’. In addition, he was part of the vampire cast of ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2′. Meanwhile, Ploszek has also been featured on Shameless, and on NBC’s ‘Parks & Recreation’. As for Howard, it’s mostly been bit roles in films such as ‘Galaxy Quest’ and ‘Men In Black II’.
Paramount Studios sees this film as a potential franchise, and is looking to adopt an Avatar-like approach to the visual effects, rendering the turtles via motion capture. Megan Fox is locked in as the female lead, April O’Neil, while casting is currently under way for Shredder, the film’s villain.
Paramount has slated the film for release on June 6, 2014.
