‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Guest Star Johnny “The Greek” Karagiorgis Dead at 41

Johnny Karagiorgis, better known as “The Greek” on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey, has died of a heart attack.

The resident of Paramus, New Jersey passed away on Saturday (June 4). The news was revealed by family and friends.

Wrote his wife Penny Drossos on Facebook:

My heart is broken my world is shattered. John Karagiorgis had a massive heart attack yesterday evening and has left us. Thank you all for your texts messages and support but please understand I’m still in shock n denial that this has happen. Please understand I need sometime to grieve with my kids at this time.

Cast members of RHONJ were known to frequent Karagiorgis and Drossos’ hair salon Medusa’s Hair Loft during the fifth season of the show, but tension between the couple and the cast eventually led to a brawl and a lawsuit, which was dropped earlier this year.

In addition to his reality show fame, Karagiorgis also co-owned the legendary hot dog joint Rutt’s Hut in Clifton, New Jersey.
