Ratings: ‘The Voice’ wins Monday – 10/23/2012

Update: The Voice adjusted up to 4.3

The Voice had a 4.2 adult rating on Monday, down from last week, but still enough to be the #1 of the night. Dancing with the Stars All-Stars had a 2.3 rating, up from last week.

The Presidential Debate had a 3.9 rating on NBC.

On NBC, The Voice scored a 4.2, down six tenths from last week’s 4.8 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars garnered a 2.4, up three tenths from last week’s 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.

On FOX, MLB Baseball Playoffs scored a preliminary 2.3 adults 18-49 rating, but will definitely be adjusted in the finals.

On The CW, 90210 earned a 0.4, down two tenths from last week’s 0.6 among adults 18-49. Gossip Girl was even with last week’s 0.4 adults 18-49 rating.

The last Presidential Debate earned a 3.9 on NBC, a 2.8 on ABC and a 2.2 on CBS. However, national ratings for the Presidential Debate will be sustained by Nielsen as it ran without commercials.

Man, The Voice really is a juggernaut. NBC really should show better discretion with the show though. I fear they're really going to burn out the show with all these continuous back-to-back-to-back seasons quicker than they would have if they just picked a time of year and made that their time. Even if they don't burn out the viewers, they're going to burn out the judges. But then I don't work in television, and all the better, I guess. I'd probably be looking for a way to put Heroes back on the air.

@NickRoman1 For some reason it's working. I honestly don't feel a "burnout." I think the Voice has somehow created a show where people can just watch people sing -- and not get ridiculed -- and it is resonating with people. I actually think the show is trending better than Season 2 -- now that was the "burnout". Right now it's slow but steady TV. I think it will do great in the spring actually against American Idol.

@Rickey @NickRoman1 Season 2 was my burnout too. Between the insane death threats and vicious comments online towards Christina over Jesse and the stupid sexist posturing of Tony Lucca, I didn't even watch the finale---I  was just so disgusted with the show and its fanbase. I'm really surprised how they were able to wipe the slate clean this cycle and almost pick up where they left off at the beginning of season 1.

@Mikhail XO @KavitTuralSumud @Rickey @NickRoman1 Yep, I only watched Juliette perform last year on Rickey and that was about it. I think I commiserated more on votefortheworst then anything lol.  I don't think the battle rounds have been really good at highlighting the potential of the artists, so the jury is still out for me on the quality this year--most of them aren't really distinct yet. If I'm supporting anyone right now, it's Deb'orah--I was so impressed by her battle round and its the only one I've listened to more than once.

@KavitTuralSumud @Rickey @NickRoman1 I agree with cutie ↑ though I didn't hate season 2 as much. The vicious on line comments toward Queen XTina soured me for a while. I also only "watched" the finale in bites...and mostly on Rickey.org via live blogging...and vids as I became disenchanted and disinterested in the finalists chosen. Quality of contestants seems a bit better this season...yes?
