Ratings: The Voice down slightly, wins Monday
Update: The Voice ratings have been adjusted up to 6.0 (WOW!) and 16.04 million viewers
The Voice had a 5.8 adult rating last night, down slightly from 6.0 last week, with 15.72 million viewers.
The Voice ratings have been adjusted up a tenth every week, so I expect ratings to be steady from last week. Great news for the show. With only one more audition show left, the pace has been surprisingly quick.
However so much for American Idol’s Nigel Lythgoe’s claim that Katharine McPhee is a “star”. Smash is in danger of being canceled. How much lower can Smash go in the ratings?
The rest of the numbers:
The Voice was down two-tenths from last week (though note last week it was adjusted up a tenth in the finals) to a still robust 5.8 adults 18-49 rating but still easily was the night’s highest rated program with adults 18-49 and more than enough to pace NBC to a win on the night. The news for Smash wasn’t good though falling another half a point with adults 18-49 to a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.
Fox’s Alcatraz continued to fall as well dropping a tenth to a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating and House was also down a tenth earlier in the night to a 2.3 adults 18-49 ratings.
Hawaii Five-0 was up a tenth to a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating.
Got Something to Add?
Smash needs to get out of that monday timeslot, It has way to much competition with Hawaii & Castle. If it was on a lighter day of television I believe it would be doing way better. I sincerely hope it does not get cancelled, but in the end, I know Katharine will continue making music either way.
Oh no not Smash. I said in another forum, Rickey, they writing is not that good on Smash, it seems to have peaked in its storyline. And now they're bringing in "name" teenagers like Nick Jonas trying to get the younger folk. if this is Spielberg's project, he better jump in quick and save it.
Wow is it really? Not even surprised. It's gotten pretty boring. I'm basically watching for Jack Davenport now.
@Mikhail XO I must admit, this is the first time that I feel that we don't need Julie's presence anymore. She and her friends said goodbye en masse last week.
@Noelle I think ratings which reach that low number are in danger. It looks like it has not reached it's low yet, but it's getting there quickly.
@Mikhail XO "She" is really evil - proven many times over.
Julie was a "star" over here even if we argued -- but she obviously didn't see that. Instead she would rather be just another one of them.
