Ratings: The Voice down 10% from last week
Update: No adjustments for Daytona 500 or The Voice, so The Voice was the #1 show last night with a 5.4 vs. 4.5 for Daytona 500. Smash down to 2.3 so it was even from last week.
The Voice had a 5.4 adult rating last night down 10% from last week’s 6.0 rating (though it may still be adjusted). It looks like the Daytona 500 will be the #1 show on Monday, but we’ll have to wait for the final numbers later today.
Good news for Smash: It went up 4% to a 2.4 rating. Nick Jonas is the man!
The rest of the numbers:
NBC’s The Voice dropped 10% to a 5.4 adults 18-49 rating, vs. last week’s 6.0 rating. Smash rose 4% to a 2.4 adults 18-49, vs. a 2.3 rating last week.
CBS’s line up seemed to get hit hardest by the race as How I Met Your Mother fell 5% to a 3.6 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a 3.8 rating last week. 2 Broke Girls hit a series low 3.7 adults 18-49 rating, down 8% vs. a 4.0 rating last week. Two and a Half Men fell 14% to a 3.6 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a 4.2 rating last week. Mike & Molly slumped 15% to a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a 3.4 rating last week. Hawaii Five-0 slid 14% to a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a 2.9 rating last week.
Got Something to Add?
O.M.G @Rickey Your'e so biased!!! Its so blatant now.. You used to be objective,, If This was Idol, you would have so many comments about how the show was bad and fans are running away, but since its "Your Personal Favorite" no critic at all.. Its hilarious.. I love your blog, but now your'e just plain funny.
YES for Smash! I love this show. And after last night´s amazing episode I have hope the ratings will finally stabilize and gain a loyal audience.
I am so hooked on this show! Hope it gets renewed soon!

@Mikhail XO Idol has already fallen to 5.1 so I doubt that it will beat 5.4 tonight, but anything can still happen. I'm thinking between 4.5 and 5.0. But really, it could just very well just have Glee ratings tonight which are in the 3's.
@Rickey @Mikhail XO I think 4.5 to 5.0 is going to be a good prediction. I don't think it's gonna be at Glee levels. Some people don't care abut the audition rounds and don't start watching until the live shows. I think the NASCAR race probably had some effect on The Voice, as it drew much better ratings than the normal Monday competition, but I expect The Voice will drop off some as it heads into the battle rounds, unless they are a lot better than they were last year. Blind auditions is The Voice's strongest feature. Unless they have made major improvements over last season, I'm gonna predict that Idol and The Voice will end up about even over the long haul. I think both shows will stabilize in the 4.0 - 4.5 range somewhere mid-season unless something buzzworthy perks up the ratings.
Glad to see Smash up a little. I hope it stabilizes at this "good enough for nbc" level. I'm really enjoying the show, but I figured it would end up more of a niche thing than a big hit.
