Ratings: American Idol down 8% from last week
Update: American Idol adjusted up to 4.6
American Idol had a 4.5 adult rating last night, down 8% from last week.
We’re back in the mid-4′s again which makes me excited and sad at the same time, LOL. Idol ratings in the 4′s always make me uncomfortable.
The rest of the numbers:
A one hour version of American Idol was down 8% to a 4.5 adults 18-49 rating, vs. a 4.9 rating last week. Even with a repeat of Touch, Fox topped the nights adults 18-49 ratings averages.
After 3 weeks off, The Vampire Diaries returned to a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating, down 14% vs. a 1.4 rating in its last original in mid-February. The Secret Circle drew a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating even with its last original episode four weeks ago.
Got Something to Add?
Network TV ratings have taken a huge tumble ....so much competition from cable....and a host of other sources.......its unlikely we will ever see the days of monster TV ratings for Network TV shows except for major special events or super hyped episodes. In light of of this Idol still remains the powerhouse in the ratings and still pulled in far more viewers than its nearest competition and for that matter more than all other TV network shows this week. I think only Dancing with the Stars next week could possibly pull higher numbers due to the heavy hype the show receives from many media outlets
