Ratings: American Idol down 11% from last week, down 35% from last season
Update: American Idol adjusted up to 4.9 and 17 million viewers, Survivor up to 2.8
American Idol had a 4.7 adult rating last night which was down 11% from last week. This was enough to be the #1 show of the night.
Idol also had 16.65 million total viewers which was close to Dancing with the Stars’ 16.87 million on Monday. Idol’s numbers may be adjusted up later today.
After a rocky start, looks like everything is stable in the Idol world finally. Ratings are still down 35% from last season, but unlike previous weeks, only The Big Bang Theory is beating Idol in the ratings at the moment.
The rest of the numbers:
American Idol was down 11% — six tenths of an adults 18-49 rating point to a 4.7 rating, but Fox still dominated the night with adults 18-49 and total viewers. Note that last week’s Wednesday ‘Idol” was adjusted up three tenths in the final national numbers.
Criminal Minds was down two tenths from its last original to a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating but CSI was up three tenths vs. its last original to a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating. Earlier in the night Survivor was down two tenths to a series low (excluding clips shows) 2.7 adults 18-49 rating.
ABC was all repeats except for Happy Endings which was down three tenths from last week (when ABC was also all repeats other than Happy Endings) in its season finale to a season low 1.6 adults 18-49 rating.
