Having just watched every contestant, saving Pia for last, I believe she kicked some serious butt last night!! She was the only one that hit EVERY note and stayed in key for every second of the song.

First of all, I've never loved this repetitive, depressing song no matter who sang it (Eric Carmen, Celine Dion, etc.) yet Pia did a credible job. Overall, I prefer last week's effort. And for those who say that Pia can only sing 80s ballads, there are several modern songs she sings on youtube without glory notes and the Celine-esque quality is still there. Listen to Pia sing the SSB at Shea Stadium. Lord, it sounds so pristine and beautiful with no elaborations -- just pure singing.

I'm looking forward to seeing what more Pia can do and am hoping she'll really connect with something more modern and more up tempo. I'm growing really tired of all the ballads this season already (not just by her but by most of the women).

Has she stopped singing the chorus over and over yet? Musta been a hard week of rehersal with those 3 whole words for the whole song.

She is great, beautiful, awesome.. I just hope she can connect to a song! If she can connect, she will take it all!

no doubt, pia is amazing. but she must find her own unique voice.

Surprizingly enough...she must be good. Note the lack of "haters" posting here. She reminds me of Kat Mcphee. Beautiful and a very good singer. But Kat had a lot of "hate" postings (for now). This girl just gets frank, factual opinions posted for her. None of the "she sucks" or is ugly, etc. And yes, I loved her.

She can sing alright but not that great as what the others believe. This is the second time I felt uncomfortable watching her whenever she hits high notes. She definitely takes too much effort. But one thing is for sure, she radiates true beauty on the stage that I forgive her dress choice last night. With the number of comments here, I am sure she has a plenty of supporters that would make her safe for the next three weeks.

sry but COMPLETELY over-rated....her lower register at the start of the song was super off...then she sang the same thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER FOR THE REST OF THE SONG!if she got it wrong no way she should've deserved to b there cuz it was THE SAME NOTE untill the end...sure she hits all the high notes...but untill her lower register rocks...not convinced

A powerful performance and a beautiful singer

With the except for Pia, Jacob, James (and maybe Megia) the rest of these contestants just suck. I'm sorry but, this season is turning out to be the worst in the series.

I think we've got our first Idol where all the teen boys decide to vote in the hot girl. May be the first female singer with groupies.

Just thinking, what if Thia and Pia switch styles next week? Would be interesting to see who'll fare better...

I think she's a good singer, but I would never buy her record. I much prefer Sally Chatfield's version of this song from X-Factor Australia.

Ugh. I don't like Pia for the same reason I don't like Celine Dion. All I hear is yelling and shrieking.

It's too much of a copycat of Celine Dion's version down the glory notes, except she seemed to run out of gas on some of the longer notes, so it feels disappointing even though she generally nailed it.

Wonder if Pia or these judges saw/heard Charice's performance of this song at David Foster's recent show in Las Vegas. Just wondering...

She sounds good. she looks REALLY good, beautiful face; shapely, curvy body. Winning potential. Yummy.

OK, Pia is the only contestant since David Archuleta to make me cry...she did that tonight. I also loved James, Stefano, Scotty, Casey and Naima. They all had terrific performances.

I believe she is overrated!

Latoya London hit it out of the park in season 3 and all the other performances of this song since have fallen short including Pia. But she still did a good job.

Great Job! I would like her to try a different song that is up to date, but impressive. I know she wants to bring back big ballads, but I would like to see her try something different to liven it up a little. But if that is what she wants to do...go for it.

Good vocals but there's always the problem of peaking too early on this show. She definitely can't do a ballad next week...I'd like to see her do something with some soul, like a Joss Stone song. Needs to move around the stage more too, she's a little too robotic

This was good, but I hated the way she kept lifting her hand out over and over, it was distracting to me for some reason. I just wanted to reach out and push her arm down, lol. So not important in the grand scheme of things I know. She was really good though singing, which all that matters.
