In keeping with last year’s theme of having the elimination song performed by the previous season’s winner, the producers of American Idol have chosen “Gone, Gone, Gone” by season 11 champ Phillip Phillips as the elimination song for season 12.

I love the hell out of this song (and seriously, for me, “The World From The Side Of The Moon” is the best winner’s album in years — my favorite since the Kris Allen debut that seemingly no one liked). Give the song a listen below:

In addition, Phillips has been inked to perform on the March 14 results show along with musical guest Bon Jovi.
