Phillip Phillips is not battling his label
American IdolPhillip Phillips isn’t “battling his label” as some blogs and fans have asserted this week. Phillip and 19 Entertainment have made statements about the matter on Twitter saying that there is “no battle” and that the “blogs got it wrong.”
I can’t believe that some people are so desperate for controversy, they are throwing Phillip under the bus.
Background:
The other day, Phillip retweeted a tweet from a guy named Nathan Porter who was railing about “pro-artist or pro-corporation.” It wasn’t specific, but some blogs like VFTW assumed that it was about Phillip.
19 Entertainment quickly said that: “Nathan Porter isn’t a manager at 19″ and added that the original tweet (which has since been deleted) was about another artist.
Phillip also said that: “there is no battle between the label and I.”
Unfortunately, because of desperation for controversy (and hits), some blogs still insist that what they think is happening is happening, not even giving Phillip or 19 Entertainment the benefit of the doubt.
This is a non-story blown out of proportion by some people with too much time on their hands reading Twitter feeds and imagining things from their home computer. Just stop it already. Leave Phillip alone.
