PGA Awards 2014 – ‘Gravity’ and ’12 Years A Slave’ Tie – Full Winners List

Well, the 25th Annual Producers Guild of America Awards were a history-making affair, in more ways than one. For the first time in PGA history, there was a tie for Best Motion Picture, something thought impossible due to the preferential balloting system (also employed by the Academy Awards, which is why so many Oscar prognosticators see the PGA as the best indicator of what will win Best Picture at the Oscars). 12 Years A Slave and Gravity split the top honors, completely throwing the Oscar race into disarray, as American Hustle went from sudden frontrunner to possible third place finisher in the space of five days. Does this signify a change in the race, with 12 Years A Slave and Gravity crowding out American Hustle? Or does this tie simply mean the two films will split the vote at the Oscars, allowing American Hustle to sail through?
