Person of Interest – Season 2 Episode 8 – Recap – Til Death
TVThis week’s episode of Person of Interest Season 2 featured two persons of interest—Sabrina & Daniel Drake. This couple is very goal-oriented, to say the least. Instead of opting for a divorce, they tried to kill one another.
There were some romantic scenes in Episode 8. Fusco went on a date, Carter was asked out to dinner, and we saw several flashbacks of Finch & Grace’s past relationship.

“The Machine” picked up two numbers this week: Husband Daniel Drake and Wife Sabrina Drake. This couple hated each other so much that they tried to kill one another. I wonder why they didn’t choose to divorce (like an average couple would)? I guess that’s TV for ya. Since Reese (Jim Caviezel) wasn’t able to watch both numbers at the same time, he asked Finch (Michael Emerson) to watch Daniel, so he could watch over Sabrina. Daniel hired somebody to plant a bomb on one of Sabrina’s car tires (but, Reese got there just in time to remove the bomb off of the tire… and he diffused the wires). Also: Reese pushed Daniel out of the way just in time, preventing him from getting hit with a bullet. (Sabrina hired someone to shoot & kill Daniel).
In an effort to keep Daniel & Sabrina alive, Reese, Finch, Carter (Taraji P. Henson), and Fusco (Kevin Chapman) kidnapped both of them. If they hadn’t kidnapped the couple, they would both be dead by now. They initially took the couple to a secret location to keep them away from the people they hired…but Reese had a change of heart. He decided to take them back into their own home to lure the killers in. (This way, Reese could have them arrested). The people that the Drake’s hired were arrested, and so were the Drake’s. Sabrina & Daniel reconciled their relationship, and fell back in love at the end of the episode. They apologized to one another for trying to kill each other. (Their lawyers will probably get them out of jail, in no time).

Fusco has been avoiding Reese’s phone calls. It turns out he was speaking to a special lady friend on the other line. They went on a date together, and Rhonda liked him so much that Fusco got a second date. Good for you, Fusco! A guy also asked Carter out to a dinner date. (I think it was one of her co-workers, but I’m not 100% sure…I’ll have to go back and take another look at that).

We also witnessed several flashbacks of Finch’s past in 2006; specifically, his past relationship with Grace (Carrie Preston). She still isn’t aware that he’s alive & well in 2012. Finch hasn’t told her about this because he doesn’t want to be a danger to her anymore. The Machine has definitely isolated him from the rest of the world. In 2006, Finch took Grace on a unique scavenger hunt for her birthday. (It included an ice cream truck, and one of their secret locations).

This was a good episode overall. The next episode airs Thursday, 12/6, at 9pm ET on CBS. Tune in then! I can’t wait to see Reese kick some major ass in the next episode!
