Person of Interest – Season 2 Episode 12 – Video Recap – Prisoner’s Dilemma

TV · Person of Interest · Season 2 · Video

Agent Donnelly was determined to catch the notorious “Man in the Suit,” and he did just that. However, something unbelievable happened at the end of the episode. Something that had to occur for this series to stay on air.

It was a refreshing episode to watch. The best episode of the series so far.

Check out the video recap for Person of Interest – Season 2 Episode 12 – “Prisoner’s Dilemma”:

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode! I loved that this episode centered more on identifying the “Man in the Suit.” The P.O.I. this week was only a minuscule part of the episode.

Let’s start off with the P.O.I. – Karolina Kurkova. Since Reese (Jim Caviezel) was stuck in prison, and Agent Carter (Taraji P. Henson) was busy interrogating the four men in suits, Finch (Michael Emerson) asked Agent Fusco (Kevin Chapman) to look after Karolina. At first meet, Karolina was reluctant to stick by Fusco… so she pepper sprayed him thinking that he was another pervy dude. He ultimately saved her from danger which prompted her to plant a big one on his lips.

Moving onto the “Man in the Suit” vs. Agent Donnelly (Brennan Brown):

Agent Donnelly asked Agent Carter to interrogate all four men in suits. (These men were arrested two episodes ago). Carter’s main goal was to obviously pinpoint any of the other three men as “the guy” because she didn’t want to reveal Reese’s true identity.

Everything that Reese mentioned during the interrogation was already backed up with online records. (Finch typed up everything while the interrogation was going on… he was able to hear everything Reese said through Carter’s earpiece). For instance, Reese stated that his real name is John Warren, and that he does investment banking for a living. Agent Donnelly searched the name “John Warren” online, and he even visited his “workplace.” Everybody at the workplace mentioned that John’s a good guy to work with. John also said his current employer’s name is “Howard Frinch.”

The four men in suits

Back in the interrogation room, Carter asked John why he left the military. He stated that it was because of his former girlfriend, Allison West. He had just gotten back from serving in Niagara Falls when 9/11 happened. He knew that he should go to New York, but didn’t go because of the look in Ally’s eyes. He instantly regretted his decision, though it was too late.

John in the interrogation room

Since online records backed up everything John said in the interrogation room, Agent Donnelly gave him one last test. He decided to send John to the pack of wolves aka the other prisoners in the field. Agent Donnelly asked the other prisoners to beat up John because he thought that John would fight back (thus revealing his true identity). But… Reese was smart enough not to fight back. (Elias (Enrico Colantoni) was also in the same prison).

Finch made a deal with one of the men arrested with Reese:

Carter interrogated the other three men as well, but it turns out that they also lied about their identities. Someone on the outside was helping them. Donnelly didn’t understand how all four men passed their background checks because in his gut, he just knew that there was no way these four men were innocent. After one of the men broke from stress, he began choking Carter. (The NYPD identified this man as “the man in the suit”…. but that was unfortunately short-lived).

After they identified that guy, Reese became a free man. Soon after that took place, Agent Donnelly followed Agent Carter’s every move. Carter and Reese were seen together at the wrong place at the wrong time, so Donnelly arrested them both. He didn’t understand why Carter had betrayed him.

Something unbelievable happened at the end of the episode. Kara—one of Reese’s former business partners in crime—intentionally rammed her truck into the car that housed Donnelly, Carter, and Reese. She shot Donnelly and put Reese to sleep using a syringe. I think this is the last we’ll see of Donnelly (since he is the only one aware of Reese’s true identity). For the sake of the show, they had to kill off Donnelly’s character. The show wouldn’t amount to anything if Reese weren’t in the picture.

This was a great episode! Love this show!
