Owner Of Dog Killed By Police Gets $262K Settlement

The owner of a dog killed by police in 2012 will get a $262,000 settlement from Commerce City in Colorado.

This is the largest settlement of this kind.

The dog was killed by three Commerce City Police officers who claimed the 3-year-old dog ran aggressively towards them. The dog was first shocked with a stun gun then shot multiple times.

The encounter was videoed by a neighbor showing the opposite: the dog was cowering and trying to escape. You can watch video here. (WARNING: GRAPHIC)

The dog’s owner was not home when it was killed.
