Here’s a live stream of the 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony in London. The show starts at 4 PM ET and will be broadcast on NBC at 7:30 PM ET.

The opening had heart in it which I liked but it was definitely not better than China's Opening.

Almost all of the Flag Bearers were hot! That helped me

@J@M lol I think Bejing will be hard to match. I do like that it was very British, even though reaction has been mixed to that. I like that they celebrated their history and what they are proud of. I felt like it was more geared towards the U.K. crowd than pandering to a t.v. audience, which I like.

I think that's one area where U.S. hosted olympics tends to be weak. The ceremonies often look like a superbowl halftime show :>

I would say Bejing, Barcelona (mostly for the torch lighting) and Turino (mostly for Pavarotti) are probably still my favs, but I liked this one a lot too.

@Joystickenvy To be fair, it is hard to compete with a militaristic Communist government when it comes to creating self-serving spectacle. Once you've taken free will out of the people, they are more likely to be precise with the synchronized parts.

@hrstump lol! and I thought I was a cynic ;) I liked how they sugarcoated that during the NBC broadcast "they leveraged their greatest asset" their people!

It was definitely better watching it live on the BBC stream than on NBC. I watched all of the BBC and part of the NBC and NBC did a horrible job.

@elfstar89 I agree! NBC always does a horrible job imo. I wish they'd give another network a shot at it, though I'm not sure any of the U.S. networks would do much better :/
