Obese Rescue Dog Just Lost 100 Pounds (VIDEO)

Meet Buddy, the obese six-year-old Australian Shepherd that once weighed 180 lbs! He has since lost 100 lbs. thanks to the caregivers at Hull’s Haven Border Collie Rescue in Winnipeg, Canada.

Buddy was previously owned by an elderly couple who almost fed him to death. The ideal weight of a dog his breed is between 50-60 pounds, so he was 120 lbs. overweight, that’s equivalent to three dogs (!!!)

When he was rescued, he could hardly walk and his tongue was turning purple, said his rescuers (via CTV News).

Aside from dropping to 80 lbs., Buddy also underwent excess skin removal. He still has a bit more to go, but this was already a miracle.
