Nigel Lythgoe: “Mike Darnell fired Lauren Sanchez as host of SYTYCD because she was pregnant”

Here’s a video of Nigel Lythgoe telling Lauren Sanchez to her face that Mike Darnell, the head of alternative programming on FOX, fired her as host of So You Think You Can Dance after the first season because she was pregnant.

He adds that “it should be illegal.” Well, it is! The Civil Rights Act of 1964 says that “Employers who have at least 15 workers are not allowed to fire or force a worker to leave because she is pregnant.”

Let’s hope that Lauren has lawyered up!

Not if she only had a 1 season contract. That means they didn't fire her, they just didn't rehire her. No illegality there, just douchebaggery.
