It was William Shakespeare who wrote, “Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak knits up the o-er wrought heart and bids it break.” While I’m sure he didn’t have two celebrities in mind when he wrote it, it’s nevertheless apt, for we come once again, dear friends, to the end of yet another Hollywood union.
Only few weeks after Chris and Luke Hemsworth staged an intervention for their younger brother, Liam Hemsworth, in response to his engagement to pop star Miley Cyrus, Us Weekly has confirmed that the Hunger Games actor has called it quits with the ex-Disney star.
“They are definitely over,” one insider said of the relationship. Cryus and Hemsworth met on the set of The Last Song in 2009 and got engaged in June 2012. Hemsworth, 23, reportedly proposed with a 3.5-carat diamond ring, which Cyrus, 20, has taken an off-and-on approach to wearing ever since.
Ah well, “Love goes by haps; Some Cupid kills with arrows, some with traps.”
And now there are conflicting reports over just who dumped whom. A source says Liam ended things, claiming, “Liam always admired Miley’s independence, but this was more like a rebellion, and it freaked him out. She has undergone a complete personality change. She’s basically thugged out. He used to be obsessed with the way she would go wild. But it got more childish to him. He’s growing up – and fast. At first they were yin and yang, balancing each other out. But they got more and more out of sync.”
However, Miley is now reportedly the one to have ended things due to a lack of passion, claiming that Liam had become more of a roommate than a fiance.
So let’s just split the difference and call the breakup a mutual one.
