Last night was the overly extravagant Met Costume Ball, which is NYC’s biggest fashion and celebrity event taking place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many celebrities (or Escalades) in one place in all my life. I managed to get plenty of pictures with some of the stars dressed in some pretty suave attire.
The security at the event was (naturally) quite crazy, so it was only by a stroke of luck that myself and two other friends managed to be in just the right place once the event itself was over. I freaked out several times watching the red carpet arrivals (especially seeing Cory Monteith, all three Jonas Brothers, and Justin Timberlake, who were hard to make out from afar), but it wasn’t until I saw a car pull up near us that was labelled “Ed Westwik” (spelled wrong, clearly) that I started having heart palpitations.
I didn’t manage to get a picture with Chuck Bass himself, but I did manage to see his beautiful face and I freaked out a little. There were two ends of the red carpet that people were using to exit, so it was kind of completely up to chance that anyone even came over to us.
Renee Zellweger was first. She was a little bit awkward at first, but very nice. She looked great in her dress!
Next was Cheyenne Jackson from Glee, and he was phenomenally nice. I hope he comes back for more Glee!
We saw Jessica Alba come by too. She was so cool and stopped for us just as a big crowd started rushing over. Her dress was gorgeous!
When I saw Justin Long headed toward us, it was hard to catch my breath. I’ve loved him ever since Jeepers Creepers! Thankfully, he was very nice and well-mannered. I like him even more now.
Another Glee guy headed our way too. I think he’s better-known for White Collar (and soon to be Magic Mike with Channing Tatum), but we told him how much we loved his stint on Glee and his amazing voice. Matt Bomer rocks!
Katharine McPhee was so gracious and very kind. I told her how much I loved Smash and that I voted for her on American Idol!
Then two Glee people came over that we weren’t expecting: Darren Criss and Dianna Agron! Dianna seemed to be in a bit of a hurry rushing for her car, but Darren was quite funny. Also at this point I couldn’t blame her for not stopping since there was a ton of people. When I asked Darren for a picture he said “Sure man, I’m not getting any better looking.” He’s too cute!
Jimmy Fallon wasn’t really looking when the flash went off in this one. He was so funny.
Amy Adams was super cool! I told her how much I adored The Muppets. She is perfection.
Victoria Justice came by as well. I never really watched her show much, but I loved her dress and she was very nice with fans, chatting away and everything.
Last but certainly not least, Ben Stiller and his wife Christine Taylor were last to come our way. They were both awesome! I chatted with Ben a little about Zoolander 2 and how much I love the first film. He promised they had something in the cards for hopefully soon. What a great couple.
Well, that was our day. Quite an adventure, especially seeing all the beautiful gowns and gorgeous men in bowties and suits. I love New York City!
