Got Something to Add?
Melinda is a breath of fresh air! She wants to be an entertainer and she certainly is one! I thought the way she danced to Stevie Wonder's song was awe-inspiring. To provide a drumbeat with her feet to a ballad such as that one was something so different that I think the judges didn't get it. I really hope she makes it far on this show. I've definitely been voting for her!
I used to be a Mouseketeer, Jay-Jay, in 1956. I got in there by tap dancing. I saw this woman tapping on SYTYCD and i was very annoyed with the judges' comments. The English guy, the one that's supposed to be a tap dancer "didn't get it." Here, let me explain to you what you saw, Nigel: you saw a woman tap dance in double syncopation and stop time to a ballad. And I THINK she was improvising it as she went along. Let's see YOU do it. She did something that has never been done before, as far as I can tell. And these three "professional judges" didn't get it. They all ought to be fired.
I thought her performance was genius. Like a great Jazz musician solo, filling in the beats where it's not expected but still miraculously keeping perfect rythem. I loved it. I got it. I'm on team Melinda.
WHAT I KNOW MELINDA HAS A GREAT AMBITION AND LOVE FOR WHAT SHE IS DOING AS A DANCER.....SHE HAS BEEN IN DIFFERENT SHOWS,SUCH AS "" HIGH SCHOOL""... ""CATS""".....SOME MORE..,.....
SO WHAT I SAW IN THIS VIDEO IS PART OF HER TALENT........I READ MOST OF THE COMMENTS IN THIS PAGE AND I AGREE AND DISAGREE......OF COURSE EACH ONE HAS A DIFFERENT WAY TO APPRECIATE THE PERFORMER,ETC...
SHE IS GOING TO BE GOOD IN THIS SHOW...I KNOW IT.......SINCERELY.......KATTY
Have seen her do better.. Not her best- I wonder if it had to do with how they edited the video. Also have to agree with Niegel; she could have used the music (of Stevie) more to her advantage to guide her music making- she danced aggressively against it, countering most of the tune.. Which is somewhat cutting through it (like what she is doing is more important). What about phrasing? Not fair to the moment, not very honest. There is something about her though ;-)
