I thought it was outstanding, and best of the night! And Melanie isn't even my favourite!
I haven't really enjoyed any hip hop performances this season. I think Melanie and Marko's routine and Marko and Ricky's routine stick out as the better ones. This one is in the middle of the pack.
Similar to a previous post, I think the storyline and music really have a lot to do with it. That single repetitive note and the talking starting at 1:18 was simply annoying.
I think that Jess' hip hop routine was phenomenal with Clarice. I guess that was more lyrical hip hop but nonetheless, it was 100% better than this. Also, Jess' routine with Lauren to Take a Bow was a lot better.
Reminds me of Twitch and Lauren's "My Chick Bad" performance. I couldn't help but compare. With that in mind, Melanie seemed really stiff in this hip-hop routine.
I agree. But shirtless Twitch was dazzling!!!
When watching the original airing I wasn't too impressed, but after seeing it again, she matched Twitch pretty well throughout. Unfortunately, for me, the story and song heavily influence my opinion of hip hop routines and that song was horrible. The choreo was a little weird too - it would give anyone a headache after all that bobbing. But seriously it's tough to blame Melanie....respectable job. I like her... more than the routine.
I think the judges pimp Melanie to much.
She really is not as awesome, to me, as they seem to want to make me think so.
Plus she has not had a 'variety of routines like the others....
Twitch showed the "feel" of hip-hop, while Melanie only showed the 'steps'.
