Rickey, start posting all the other videos too...that way we can see how the other couples are soooo much better than Melanie and Marko and Jordan and Tadd...The only reason you post them is so that no one can see the competition...I agree that melanie should win the whole thing but Marko is just riding on her coat tails...
I was a bit stressed last night due to dog issues and just posted Marko and Tadd because they are Pinoy, and I love Melanie. Hopefully we'll be back to posting everything next week. Thanks for you patience.
I loved the tango. Gave me shivers. Din't like the contemporary that much though. :(
Being totally superficial, I found Marko's look to be more jazzy than the suave tango look. Also, Melanie's makeup was bizarre. Somebody went crazy with the blush! Her legs are kinda stocky and looked weird in this dance. It was not their best. The last lift was cool and that was my favorite part of their dance. The contemporary dance they did with the light bulb was more their speed.
What was the judges reaction to the the tango? I know this is the "dream team" that the judges have been drooling about throughout the entire competition -- and rightly so, I think they are definitely the top contenders so far. But that tango looked very ponderous and labored, and they didn't come across as being very confident.
The judges mentioned that it could have been better but were overall pleased. Nigel seemed to like that the choreographer really challenged them and was surprised at the improvement since the dress rehearsal. He liked that last lift a lot. Mary reviewed the different types of tangos and also commented on the difficulty. She said it could have used additional work but also mentioned that there are some pros that still have difficulty with some of the required moves. The other two judges mentioned their star quality and generally liked the performance and their conviction. Sonya called them timeless dancers.

ugh, was that the actual music for the tango? i know sometimes they don't get clearance for the songs.
