Marcy Emme Rylan leaves The Young and the Restless for General Hospital

Say it ain’t so.

Soap Opera Digest is confirming that Emme Rylan, formerly known as Marcy, is leaving The Young and the Restless, to take over the role of Lulu Spencer on General Hospital. Julie Marie Berman, who has portrayed Lulu for years, announced her departure from the soap last week.

Rylan once played Lizzie Spaulding on the now-defunct Guiding Light before she was casted in the role of crucial legacy character Abby Newman on The Young and the Restless. Y&R let her go late last year, but she returned to the role on a recurring basis a few weeks ago – and now will be leaving again.

This is stupid on the part of Y&R. They should have had her on a contract. Rylan will be a good Lulu, but she is definitely needed on Y&R as Abby. Oh well. By the way, I wonder why she is going by her first name now?
