‘Lincoln’ leads Cinema Audio Society nominations
FilmEarlier today, the Cinema Audio Society announced its slate of nominees. Among the nominees are Steven Spielberg’s hugely-successful ‘Lincoln’, and ‘Skyfall’, whose Oscar prospects have grown over the last several weeks, particularly after the film scored a surprise PGA nomination last Wednesday. This is indicative of a groundswell of support for the blockbuster, though whether that translates to anything more than a handful of tech nominations on Thursday morning remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Tim Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie’ is among the animated film nominees, in a field that includes ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ and ‘Brave’. ‘Modern Family’ is one of several top TV shows vying for an award in the ‘Television Series – Half-hour’ category, while ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Breaking Bad’ have been cited in the ‘Television Series – One Hour’ field. Lastly, ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘Game Change’ are two of the films duking it out in the ‘Television Movies and Mini-Series’ category.
