Lillie McCloud – When A Man Loves A Woman – The X Factor – Video

Lillie McCloud performed “When A Man Loves A Woman” on The X Factor USA Season 3 Live Show #1. Watch the video:

Lillie is sanging, per usual. What else would we expect?

PauCharo says it was amazing and she is one of the winners in the competition in her point of view – she calls her a goddess. Simon says she is one heck of a singer but says she needs to lose the theatrics as it comes off as a little Broadway. He just wants to hear her sing. Kelly says all she has to say to Simon’s comment is “Yeah..” She calls her the best vocalist there.

Weak and nasally.   Horrible song selection.

Rickey is of course right but why would she sing a James Brown song that is 50 yrs old?  She should sing Hit Em Up Style and lighten things up.

her tone, her stage presence, and her delivery speak for themselves.  love her..  just give her material she can believe in..  and i'll buy it.

She's a Diana Ross wannabe with a good voice, but she's had plenty of chances to make it in this business.  Even if she were to win (she won't), where's she going to go?  Who would truly purchase her albums and/or attend her concerts?

Seriously--song has been beaten to a farethewell on these singing shows.  Can't they find something that doesn't make her sound out-dated?  She should insist on it.  What does she want to do post-show?

Best there is today on all of the talent competitions...  and relevant.

@KatManFoSho For you to call her that is ridiculous. She is definetly not a wannabe and is a seasoned pro at what she does, She sings ten times better then most of these contestants.

@Rickey @doobeedoo thats true…i was listenin to carolina choc drops when i wrote that…uh, i dunno what she should sing, but not Percy Sledge…Rickey, u know she wouldn't even get the shares to turn around on the Voice with what's above.

@AdrianS - Correct, she's a "seasoned pro" and that's basically my point.  What's she doing in a competition against amateurs? If as you claim, "she sings ten times better then (the word should be 'than') most of these contestants", why isn't she famous, wealthy, and under contract?

@Rickey - The "perhaps longer" means that I have followed "these shows" (for example: X Factor UK, Australian Idol, The Voice of Holland, Australia, and the UK) longer than you have been providing coverage for them (if at all).

Of course the bottomline for "these shows" is to produce ratings and advertising Rickey.  That's a given and applies to nearly everything in life.

@KatManFoSho "... perhaps longer" What is that supposed to mean? LOL How long do you think I've been covering these shows? Take a guess.

I think Season 7 revealed that "these shows" weren't "designed" for whatever you think it is. That's the year when the judges threw Kelly Clarkson under the bus as someone who wasn't a completely out of nowhere discovery.

And honestly, "these shows" are not about finding anyone. They are about ratings and advertising.

People like us like to watch and talk about these things that's why these shows exist.

@Rickey - I know what the requirements for these shows are Rickey.  I've been following them for at least as long as you have ...perhaps longer.  I also know the difference between a pro and an amateur.  These shows were originally designed for competition between people who really never got a chance to make it or had success in the business.  Cowell, Fox, et al, have really out done themselves this season with gross deceit in this area.  Trying to hide and cover up the fact about Lillie, Rachel, etc.

That shouldn't matter. Everyone on these singing shows has a past and this shouldn't be no different. Nobody knows why her career really took off but they're are many others that struggle and this may be her last chance, and plus we shouldn't hold that against her being a pro considering she does have undeniable talent that these mediocre contestants don't and that puts her in a different league in her own

@KatManFoSho @AdrianS LOL. The only technical requirements on these shows are that you are not under contract and you can work in the United States.

Rachel Potter has worked on Broadway as a "professional" and Carlitos was part of the new Menudo from the MTV reality show. It's not as if this Top 12 auditioned for the very first time in their lives for The X Factor and are all of a sudden "discovered". Even the teenagers have tried many times to get on a show like this.
