Lifetime Developing TV Movie About Ann Curry's 'Today Show' Firing

Ann Curry’s departure from The Today Show made headlines in June 2012, and though both Curry and the top-rated morning show quickly landed back on their feet, the drama isn’t necessarily gone from the public spotlight just yet.

Lifetime is developing a made-for-TV movie about the behind-the-scenes drama that resulted in Curry’s public firing from Today. The film will be based on Brian Stelter’s book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV, and will also depict Good Morning America‘s rise as a true rival to Today‘s morning supremacy.

Liz Gateley and Tony DiSantos, the team responsible for Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life and My Life Is a Lifetime Movie, will executive produce the project. No casting decisions have been made yet, however, nor have auditions begun. So…suggestions?
