‘Life of Pi’, ‘Brave’ sweep VES Awards
FilmIf it wasn’t already clear which film is the frontrunner for the Visual Effects Oscar, tonight’s Visual Effects Society Awards made certain we knew it was ‘Life of Pi’. Ang Lee’s epic took home four awards, a feat matched only by Disney-Pixar’s ‘Brave’ which, luckily for ‘Pi’, is not in contention for the Visual Effects Oscar. However, some of its competition did take home an award or two, including last summer’s biggest blockbuster, ‘The Avengers’.
