Nebraska! This is so good! Lady Gaga’s ‘You and I’ remixed Shania Twain style!
From Village Voice:
[You and I] was co-produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange, the mastermind behind fist-pumping anthems by the likes of Def Leppard and Bryan Adams—and pop-country star Shania Twain, with whom he was once romantically entangled, and who Gaga’s been sorta-emulating with not only this grand track, but by tweaking her other songs so they can fit into country and “world music” playlists. So it makes sense that producer Mark Taylor, who helped craft Cher’s 1998 smash “Believe,” reworked the track so that it sounds like a pop-country curio from about 12 years ago—after all, who said that ’90s nostalgia had to focus on the middle of the decade?
