L.A. Reid not returning to The X Factor next year
In a surprising move, it has been revealed that Epic Records head L.A. Reid will not return next year for the season 3 of The X Factor. Reid has been a judge since the show’s US debut in 2011. Reid is set to return to running Epic full time and put energy into finding new talent.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the reality TV judge will not be returning to the Fox series for season three. The Epic Records chairman will return to his full-time gig of running the Sony music label, with plans to invest renewed energy and vigor into developing new and signed talent.
“I have the utmost respect for Simon Cowell,” Reid said Thursday. “He is the very best, and I have had the opportunity to learn so much from him. Working with him on X Factor has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’m honored to have sat on the panel with such incredible talent.”
“Of course I will miss the show; In my opinion Simon attracts the best talent,” added Reid. “But I’m looking forward to getting back to my core business and the responsibility of running Epic Records.”

Got Something to Add?
The whole show is an advertisement platform for the sponsors. Any resemblance to entertainment is purely coincidental. Some of the contestants have already spoken about how staged the show is (why wouldn't it be). After they misused and abused that singer Don Philip as a publicity stunt, I refused to watch it again.
this show should quit! Demi and especially Brittany are awful. Brit couldn't hold a note if she tried and her judging other's performances is ridiculous.
The show is a joke. Judges should have some credibility, not be kids like Demi..I don't blame him for leaving
@jewels OMG - I wish it were Ricky Martin! If only he hadn't joined the Australian version of The Voice :(
