Klay Thompson Cleared To Play In Game 1 Of NBA Finals After Concussion
Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson has been cleared to play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, according to a report from ESPN.
Thompson took a knee to the head last week and was initially diagnosed as a contusion. He was later upgraded to having a concussion after he showed symptoms (like throwing up).
Apparently, the NBA’s concussion protocols are lax. Just one week later, a player is cleared to play? Hasn’t the league been paying attention to what has happened in the NFL?
Here’s hoping Thompson opts to not play for the sake of his health.
The Warriors play the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday at 9 pm ET.
