@J@M Oh c'mon. This is just stupid. It's not like Simon or Nigel plucked non-talents off the street and molded them into stars. They had talent before they ever heard of AI, and they have agents. Idol doesn't "produce" stars...they help catapult them. You seem easily manipulated...the kind of viewer Idol producers luuuuuuurve....

@Mikhail XOYou just need to stop assuming that you are on some other level than other people. No one else knows what they are talking about, but you do? I don't see a point in coming down on someone if they think that these stories are true - all the behind the scenes machinations don't make any sense any more than how they are propelled to superstardom on the show. My God, its just a show, not pointing out who Nigel hand plucks off the street. Its not like you have a stake invested in spreading the ruses and tricks that go on. At the end of the day it's just a show that people want to enjoy. Let us live please.

I like Kelly but she did not do this song justice. It is a national song with specific notes and she just sang it her own way. I think it should be sung as written. In fact, Beyonce did the same thing to the National Anthem. Changed the notes throughout the song. ?????

@dibbee Vocally, she sang it well however off-tangent it was.

Also, the inaugural committee was very magnanimous for letting someone who endorsed Ron Paul to sing for the inauguration. Kudos for them and for Kelly for singing for someone she did not endorse.

@jiggamang @dibbee My understanding was in the actual election, she voted for President Obama. I think her performance was really, really good! You could tell she was nervous singing in front of one million people. What a great honor for her!

@dibbee Agreed. I think songs like like these should be sang in tradition. The audience likes to sing along to these songs and when the artist goes off tangent, it disconnects the audience from being a part of the experience.
