Urban: The fact that it’s given birth to legitimate artists, not just people that were popular that season and then faded away. In a lot of cases, those who didn’t win — the Daughtrys, the Adam Lamberts — have gone on to sell ­records and have real careers. There was the credibility factor I really loved.

Keith summed it up perfectly...Idol is the only show that has produced legitmate music stars.....The Voice is a mere joke...a showcase for its judges more than its contestants.....and X factor USA was just a complete mess.....Im back boys and girls and excited that Idol is back next week.....the more I read the more Im thinking Nicki was a brillant choice as a judge......I think she will be the one to watch this season!

Obviously he's been indoctrinated into this senseless PR. 

May I remind everyone that just two years ago, Nigel Lythgoe ridiculed Lee DeWyze -- an American Idol winner --  in front of everybody.

But hey, it's American Idol season -- let's all put our blinders on once again. I'm cool with that.

@Mikhail XO @Rickey They've done a "Songs from the Cinema" theme night almost every season, and not one contestant has chosen "Stand Out" from A Goofy Movie!.. I'm saying it, everyone!

@Rickey not to mention Karise Eden has been very successful in Australia with a double platinum album so why would he just dismiss her like that

i agree with him completely. idol is the #1 show if you really want to succeed and have a successful career.

@kara445  if u dont win and dont have idol people behind you :) The only actual winners that have done anything are kelly carrie scotty is just starting as well as philip phillips. The other people didnt have the idol machine to mess with them the only thing that is good i think is the exposer maybe so other labels can look at you.
