Kara DioGuardi fired from American Idol?

Kara did nothing but pimp Adam last year she wrote two of his songs and let him be a mentor not because he was good but because she could make money off his CD . she had way to much to gain no judge should be that invested in one of the singers its really not fair how much she supported him on the show i mean he was in no way the people choice yet we didn't even hear Kris Allen name on the show by one of the judge . America we have been played and have been deprived of the true choice of the people KRIS ALLEN i am happy she is was fired and the truth is out.

Yup, Kara is definitely insecure...and overcompensated for that ALL. THE. TIME.
Simon did her NO favours this season, for even when she had a great critique to express., he consistently rolled his eyes and disrespected/embarassed her. It's like Idol just wanted to her to take it on the chin all the time, or play ditzy...which she is not. Listen, as soon as she is comfortable being 40, she will rock. It's almost like she's going through an awkward adolescence...the bikini, the nude photo, etc. Put some glasses on Kara and look stern - - that'll show 'em.

I can't believe they're getting rid of Kara. She was the voice of reason. She was a good judge. There were nothing but good critiques of her from the major bloggers out there.... this makes me sad :*(

Kara was a phony, insecure, overbearing, competitive, and sometimes way off the mark judge. I don't even think she's that great a songwriter. How did she even get to AI to begin with, is something I never understood.

They should have kept her over Randy. Oh, well no one really cares or feels sorry for her. lol

Marie, you can't convince me that Simon wasn't very excited about Adam Lambert. He loved Adam - and I did and still do. I'm glad Kara is gone - never liked her. Ellen never fit this show, anyway, and finally she sees it. Had a dream last night that showed the return to 3 judges, and today's news showed that is happening. Interesting. I think that will work better. How about alternating at times so that there are 2 women and one man, and then two men and one woman?

Remember awhile back AI had that online poll asking viewers opinions? Well I believe that there where a whole lot of viewers responding. One of the questions was something like what judge would you miss the least (not exactly, but something like that) and then choices A_D. Well I don't know if that was the deciding factor, but it may have been taken into consideration. Anyway I am not sorry to see Kara go, she just had an arrogance about her that grated. IMO

I am not a hater, but I am glad Kara is gone. She was extremely annoying and loved to hear herself talk. They also need to boot whomever has been picking the contestants - they go though a pre-screening before they make it to the judges. The talent has been lackluster in recent years and that is the reason for lower ratings. I'm also glad they are going back to a 3 judge panel. We don't need 4 people telling us who we should like.

Firing Kara is the best move AI has made so far. She was the worst.

Rickey you're psycho. In season 8 you hated Kara with a passion. Now all of a sudden she was "one of your favorite judges"? I honestly remember you mouthing shut up whenever she spoke during your live telecast

Kara was cool. I actually was OK with her to some degree cause at least she would go heads up with Simon.

The show has been dying a slow death anyway. In previous seasons, we have had multiple groups with sites for Archie and David Cook.. The season after, it seems there was just two large unorganized groups for Allen and Lambert. This last season? Nothing.. No outstanding groups.. No obvious organization..

I can only hope the change will breath new life into the show.

Last year (apart from Simon) we had

-One judge that despite personal issues gave at least somewhat relevant comments (Kara).

-One judge that gave entertaining, but usually utterly irrelevant comments (Ellen)

-One judge that was neither entertaining nor relevant in their comments (Randy)

Why am I not surprised which one of those three is sticking around.

Yes, Kara did her own self in with the nude photo shoots and all. If contestants were kicked off the show for doing the same thing what kind of example was she setting? I lost respect for her as a judge when she got up on stage the one season wearing the bikini. How could one really take her seriously after that??

Well, I say its about damn time. Excuse my french, but AI need some major changes for any chance of survival. And if that means cutting loose that cougar Kara then so be it. She brung nothing wondrous to the show anyway. And good riddance to Ellen too.

Let me guess for a moment. The show is lacking "star" winners. As much as you all want to claim that Adam and Kris are "star" singers, they are not anywhere near Carrie, Kelly, Daughtry or Jennifer. And that's what the show lacked. Anybody could see this last season, the winners looked like the same-o-same-o, white boy strumming guitar clones. And the contestants had no personality. That's why they brought on the "name" star performers Jlo and Steven Tyler - who came out of left field. And the auditions startup soon, so they had to make a move.

Anytime Simon can't get excited -- and he hasn't been for about 3 seasons -- then the show is not finding good talent. This is what I think:
1) they're going to let the second chancers ("michael johns") back in the game, because they are semi-pro and know how the business works
2) Jennifer is a one-season replacement. I don't see JLo being there season after season.
3) The same for Steven Tyler. I think these two are temporary "big name" replacements, which will pump up the ratings. But for long-term, I don't think so. I bet they have a one or two year contract
4) Randy's contract is up next year. He may not even want to come back. He's got so much in the fire now.

Why must Simon be replaced? Somebody explain that to me...please.

For the last several years I was an athiest. Now I realize there is a God.

Kara is just a proxy for who should really be shown the door, Ken Warwick. Kara did herself in; that cougar shtick, that Warwick probably thought would be "good" TV, alienated a good portion of the viewers. CKx should demand that Warwick be replaced, nearly everything he's done as executive producer, has been cited by somebody as one of the reasons for the show's decline.

The show died this past year, anyway with Paula gone, and now Simon leaving. It could use some fresh talent. Maybe it will be an improvement? Who knows, and I really don't care.
